I need help!

So I was sending an 'in the area' email to several medical schools, and stupidly, I forgot that they have thanksgiving break too. Anyways, my email went something like as follows:

[FONT='PrimaSans BT,Verdana,sans-serif']To Whom It May Concern,

I understand that interview invites are only given to a select few candidates, but I wanted to let the admissions department know that I will be in the NYC area from Nov. 25-29. If I am given the opportunity to interview, and if this scheduling is at all possible, could this occur during that time slot?

Thanks a lot!
.
One of the schools emailed me back with:

Greetings!

We understand that you will be in New York City November 25-29 and have requested that we look into the possibility of interviewing you then. We try to accommodate applicants such as yourself, who have been selected for interview, because we are aware of how expensive traveling can be. However, we will not be interviewing during those dates as it is the Thanksgiving holiday. Please let us know if you are planning another trip to NYC. Our interview season extends from mid-September to the end of February and we do not have rolling admissions to give everyone an opportunity before the class is selected.

We thank you for your continued interest in our medical college..

Keep in mind that this is the first time I've heard back from that school since they sent me a completion email. What does this mean?

Should I email them back with a date earlier or later?

Doesn't mean an interview. Comma usage could've been better.

I disagree. I think it is an interview invitation.

Is this from Cornell? I sent an in the area email and received similarly worded response, sans the interview invitation (just a wait).

Email back to see what this means. Im pretty sure its an invite. Let us know!

I agree with this. They have decided to offer you an interview, but haven't gotten around to it just yet.

someone may have misread your email and thought you already had an interview that you wanted to move

definitely call them for clarification.

why don't you just reply back to that email with another date and see what happens.. If they confirm it then you've got yourself an interview...

i agree with this, but asking for an interview during thanksgiving is pretty funny

It's definitely hard to keep track of everything in these hectic days. Forgetting the holiday is totally understandable.

Congratulations, though. Sounds like you have two interviews at New York schools! I'd wait for future direction.
