Major: B.a in Chem i was biochem but i am short 1 credit(d- in pchem lab) so ended up with chem.
cGpa: 3.1 sGPA 3.06. plenty of upper level science class. Grade trend is all over the place.

took 6 years to graduate i took a year off due to family hardship(suicide in family)

didnt take the mcat. when i studied i used to score mid 20s. hit a financial crisis and started a career in a diagnostic lab. been outa school for 2 years forgot a lot of science.

scribed for 2 weeks, shadowed for a long time. good recommendation letter. not much ecs.

I am kind of in verge of saying f it. dire need for some guidance.

Postbacc and/or SMP. Your gpas as of now won't quite do it for med school. Just ace the SMP and show adcoms that you can really handle a med school curriculum. Good luck.

Hey Khan,

You'd would first want to establish an upward trend in grades. You can do this by taking a year of new/challenging upper level science classes on a full-time basis. The goal is not to raise your GPA to a sky high level, but rather to separate the old you from the new you. Complete the above and study very hard for the Mcat (take your time with this exam your Medical career depends on it). I would only recommend a SMP (high risk, great reward kind of deal) after a failed app cycle.
Hello thanks for your reply. I took most of the upper level science course my school offers. I kind of ran out of bio/chem class to take.

I guess in that case you should apply to a bunch of SMP programs, and before you start the program take the MCAT and brush up on some science because SMPs are hard as ****.
