I took a course in nanomedicine last year and it's pretty cool. For tumors u can also use conjugated magnetic nanoparticles, direct them into tumor cells and agitate them with an external magnetic field to mechanically destroy the cells. U can also use infrared light to thermally kill cells once they are within the tumor, conjugated quantum dots are another option and it goes on and on...

Yes, it is quite exciting. I knew that this research had been started, but I had no idea how far they had gotten with it.
