Wow, this is a Miracle, l passed part 2 . Studied for two months, Scored 71 the last attempt. This time around studied the mosby's decks, first aid and kaplan q bank and the tufts review: the best material ever for part two. Please never give up on your dreams because of anything. Keep pushing forward. Pray and get enough rest a day before the exam. Special thanks to odontologia, confused kid and sunshine 5

I finally Passed my part II. I don't really post much but I thought may be this will help someone studying. first time I took I didn't take it seriously and got 73 and failed. First time I only studied decks and went twice with decks, that's it, no exams no nothing else as I only wanted to pass and I didn't.
2nd time around I studied for about month and a half, 8-12 hours a day and may be day or two off in the whole time at the most. This time I studied decks really well, went over last five years of released exams and Mosby's cover to cover. This is all you need in my Opinion. They have everything you need. Now remembering it all at once is another story.
My score 2nd time around was 89. I got 409/500 right total and 81/100 in case based.
I am kicking myself in the head that why I didn't take the exam seriously. This exam is little tougher than part I (I got 87 after studying for two weeks in part I). Just study the material really well as all the information is there and try to understand as much as you can. Don't use too much material like kaplan and stax and some other crap that is out there. use one or two things and stick to it and understand it well. I think it is just a matter of remembering it all during the exam. Just study well and be confident during the exam and that you did the best you could.
Please help me out with this query of mine...
Is it true that if u fail once and take the exam again, u get the avg of both the scores and not the latest score.
People who have passed in 2 attempts would know it better. Pls. resolve this question for me.
Thanks.

Well Congrats Laura, finally did it.
Just to update my story, I finally got my license to practice last week(It took about 3 months to get my license from the day I passed my part2), and I am now drilling people's mouth. It feels so great and priviledged to do what I am doing. I am running a private practice with my husband who is also a dentist and we are doing great. We are thinking of going to hawaii for vacation this summer and I'm having a blast overall in dentistry. I hope all of you will achieve your greatest success with your careers and exams. Do not give up and always keep moving forward. I didn't let my fifth failure on my board exam to dictate what I can achieve.
Hi all,
So I finally got my results. I've been stressed and nervous about whether I would pass or not because of how little I studied. I studied 3.5 weeks, the first 2 weeks was not intense. I passed, but barely... 75
Here's what I did: decks once during the first 2 weeks. Went through old exams and Kaplan Q bank. Of course, I used wiki as well to look up stuff, just because it's quicker than going through a thick text book.
My test seemed pretty easy to be honest, of course I was stressed because my mind couldn't stop thinking that maybe I didn't pass, but at the same time, I think I felt that I didn't do too bad, but damn, I barely squeezed by.
I have to thank all of you, especially odontologia for answering my PM with study advice, even though I got lazy and didn't follow it 😀
THANK YOU SDN POSTERS!
Congrats!!!!!👍👍
Are the clinical cases on the actual exam just like the kaplan qbank? i hope not!!! Did alot of q´s from kaplan q bank pop up???

hi,I haven't taken the exam yet.. I wanted to take it the first week of january, so I could apply to NJ dental school, but I changed my mind because I don't have enough time to study everything well...I don't know if it is worthy to kill myself studying if I maybe I would not have the results on time to apply...so I just I applied to NYU and Boston with my first part of the exam...
