I need a good book that can review/teach the math section of the PCAT to me. Right now I have the kaplan book but its so weak in math and orgo. Do you guys know of any study material for math section? or for the orgo section. I NEED STUDY MATERIAL!!

😏

Dr. Collins quantitative seems very thorough to me.

I'm taking the pcat in June
but from looking through his packet I think i'll be well prepared.

Hmmm... that Dr. Collins seems a tad too expensive. I need something else

LOL!! I liked my PreCalc book it's called precalculus by sullivan....it's definately an easy read, and has step by step examples, and then an annotation to send you directly to a specific end of chapter question on the same topic, so you can reinforce the new technique you just learned, also these questions they send you to are odd numbered so the answer is in the back of the book...it really helps you to make sure you've mastered the subject....i don't know if it has the exact materials that the PCAT tests on, and I haven't taken the PCAT yet.... but I'll definately be referring to this very often during my studies...i hope this helps.

did you try pcat destroyer? I heard it has a nice math section for pre calc and calc

Hi I've done research on good Math resources & the level of detail,
So for someone who's not taken any Math recently but got A's in Calculus , what is best resource and strategy ? I wish to learn this quickly.

1. Dr. Collins
2. PCAT Destroyer
3. Sparknotes for Pre-Calc, Calc etc

I'm also studying fo the PCAT and i bought Dr. collins and kaplan. I find Dr. collins' exam questions much much easier than kaplan. i dont know if thats a good thing or not, but for someone whos not as great with math, I'ld recommend Dr. collins just because his questions are a little easier and its more of a review rather than trying to teach you everything again using a whole bunch of ways.. kaplan confuses me with their paragraph explanations.

I found the math section the hardest to prepare for simply because there isn't one textbook you can study from. What helped me the most was mathtv.com. the videos are fantastic and explain the concepts really well. Then I would just google "practice probs on limits", "practice probs on stats" etc etc and you would have plenty of practice probs to choose from.

Kaplan does not prepare you for the math at all. Dr. Collins was good in some respects but by no means thorough I felt. Also there is still a lot of geometry in his practice sheets and there isn't any geo on the test now. Other than these, I used AP calc books to understand some concepts better since on the PCAT they do ask conceptual questions.

LOL? are you serious? what do you mean like? it's called do some research!! just randomly dig through your old textbooks, use cliffnotes calculus, geometry, and algebra, use ANNNNYYYY COLLEGE CACLULUS TEXTBOOK. drive to ur old high school. ask them to lend you high school geometry textbooks, algebra. For the love of god go online and just search "how to do calculus"

b1234 told u that any textbook would work...its amazing how you said "like..." like your unable to step up and do some research on your own?? ok thanks go have a good life😀
