Need a second job. I'm bored.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm not exactly sure why I was dragged into this thread or why my approval is so important to Snoopy Brown.

Your approval specifically isn't important to me, but every time I make a comment about this topic you jump in and start going on about how grueling the lifestyle of EM is. If you can't put two and two together about it, then there you go. If beyond all hope is a medical student then you can certainly strike his comment but they're no different than other comments by other members in the past.

snoopy poopy: cut your losses and bail.

to the OP: i am considering looking for an EM residency in NY, but am curious if you have opportunities to get out of town very often. i'm interested in many other places, mainly because of access to whitewater and/or mountains. you say you have too much free time - if you were in interested in activites such as mine, would you say you have time to pursue those them?

I am an attending in NYC. There are plenty of outdoor activities, more so if you have a car. Hiking, kayaking, rafting, camping, etc. Some of this is evena available in the city where you don't need a car.

I'm kind of sorry to see that my seeming-innocuous post started a flame war.
Why can't we all just get along?

Besides, ERscutmonkey (AKA Beyond all Hope) is a medical student.

???
Big P, I'm a bit disappointed. I've followed your blog for awhile now. I don't know where you get your information but it's flawed.

I'm an attending. My signature is now completely illegible, I'm starting to lose my procedural skills (hence starting in trauma center soon), and I'm fairly fanatical about diligent charting, and I've started to say things like 'back in the good old days we took out esophageal foreign bodies with a foley'.
