Hi everyone,
I am having trouble deciding on an MD school list, I have a pretty good idea about DO schools, but due to a slightly low MCAT I need help deciding on a realistic list with maybe 1-2 stretches. I am a white, Minnesota Resident for reference. Any help is appreciated, thanks everyone!
Major in Undergrad: Biochemistry
MCAT: 507
GPA: 3.691
Science GPA: ~3.6. It is hard to calculate due to some Math courses not carrying over to my calculated major GPA.
Volunteering: 40 hours in ER. 50 hours as a mentor and tutor at an inner city Middle School
Research:
Biomedical engineering research assistant: 1.25 years, around 300 hours
Surgical lab assistant in research lab: 2.25 years, a little over 1000 hours
Clinical Experience: Medical Scribe: will be around 1600 hours when I apply, currently at 800.
I know my volunteering is low, so I think I might try to add 25-50 hours over the next few months.
Schools I'm thinking about:
-Loyola
-University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities and Duluth
-Creighton
-Brown (stretch)
-Medical College of Wisconsin
