So i just got my mcat score back and did not do nearly as good as i had planned...i basically bombed the test and ended up with a 25. Now my debate is that I want to apply to the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, and I am wondering if I should apply now with my 25 and then resubmit my new MCAT score later (which will hopefully be better) or if I should just wait till I get my new score back to apply but that would be in September. The average mcat score at ccom is 26, so im not that far off and my gpa is above average as well since i have a 3.7 overall, and i have a lot of extracurriculars as well and can get strong recommendations. I am scared if i apply too late i wont get any spots so im wondering if i should just apply now and see if i get in. The risk is that they might finish reviewing my application before i get a chance to resubmit my new score. Any help would be appreciated on what to do. Oh yeah, should i bother applying to any other DO schools as well that you guys would recommend where I have a chance of getting in??

I would apply NOW. Your numbers are fine. You'll get in somewhere. I wouldn't mention that you're planning to retake the MCAT as that will slow down the decision process. They will wait for your new score to make the decision. Good luck.

Apply now it is still considered early. I would apply broadly. No matter what your stats are you don't know where you will be accepted. I think you have a shot for CCOM. If you are instate that can work to your advantage. Many schools drop their admissions standards slightly lower for instate applicants. Don't worry about the second score they will see it before they make the decision on your acceptance. I hope you are accepted to the school of your choice. Good Luck!!!!:luck::luck::luck:

Yes, you should apply to more than one school if you want to go to med school next year. Iy you're worried about in-state tuition, there are plenty of DO schools that are equal or cheaper than CCOM's in-state price.
