Need help with School list

Hey guys,

I need help choosing which schools to apply to. I am a non-traditional PA resident.

cGPA: 3.47
sGPA: 3.43
MCAT: 499 (47%) Chem/Phys:125 Crit: 123 Bio:127 Psych:124

Worked in a lab as an undergrad for 2 yrs, yielded a summer research grant, 1 3rd auth publication and 2 posters
EMT volunteer ~60hrs
Shadowing ~60 hrs
Hospital Volun ~65 hrs
Resident Assistant 2 yrs, 1 summr
Community service club ~2 yrs
After graduating, Full-time research tech & cont to volunteer/shadow once a week

Here's my list so far:

I have a well-written letter from an MD, but no DO. I checked the schools above and they would like either one, but recommending a DO letter. However, at this point it would be a rush to shadow a DO and ask for a letter. It wouldn't be a good one, I would think.

Also, I did no take a high level biochem course.

Any help is appreciated. I just hope I'm not too late to submit my application.

List is too top heavy for a score equivalent to 24-25 on the old MCAT. OU and Rowan are in state biased. Add more schools, especially the newer ones. Consider:

VCOM x3
MUCOM
ACOM
WVSOM
Touro NV

CCOM is really into MCAT scores so that may be a bit of a stretch...

LECOM requires a DO letter.

List is also top heavy. You can add reach school but make sure to apply to enough programs with scores that are lower. Consider regional biases.

Take out ou hcom unless your OK with the contract.

Consider VCOM/burrel

You're right. I just checked OMC info book and it states Burrell requires a DO letter.

As a Texas resident who was interested in scoping out the school I was bummed as well, which was the reason why I ask.

DO I shadowed taking his time to write my letter.
