Hi I'm starting the first part of Organic Chemistry. My teacher is using "Organic Chemistry 6th Edition" by Brown. He seems to be inconsistent with textbook so it's hard because they both teach slightly different from each other. He also has a thick accent so it's hard to communicate with him and he sometimes doesn't understand my questions. Do you guys know of any sources where I can find harder test banks or problems to study?

We just had our first exam and it was so much harder than the homework problems he assigned and also the practice test he gave us. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Buy Orgo Destroyer and/or DAT destroyer. Do the Ochem problems. As an added bonus, you'll be golden for the DATs.

Ochem Odyssey is overkill for the DATs but if all you want is Ochem practice that's the book to get. I think you get big discounts if you buy the bundles. I personally loved DAT Destroyer and Math Destroyer.

I think your best bet is to use Chad's videos. He is the most brilliant and easy to understand Chemistry professor on earth. Just google chad's videos and watch what he offers for free and see for yourself then you can subscribe if you want. Good luck!

I discovered him while I was taking Organic chem and then I used him for DAT prep.

Organic Chemistry by Vollhardt and another author is a great textbook with alot of problems imo :]

CHAD!!!!!! Helped me with ochem and gen chem on the DAT!!

Organic Chemistry As a Second Language by Klein is how I got A's in ochem 1 and 2. I also used the Organic Chemistry textbok by the same author. But perhaps buying the organic chem destroyer will be very useful as it will simultaneously prep you for the DAT.

All the above are great. Also I don't think anyone mentioned the American Chemical Society (ACS) guide. It's like 20 bucks and it reviews important ideas of organic chemistry and then has test questions based on those sections. Plus, if your school makes you take the ACS final this is the best way to study for it. It's official title is "Preparing for your ACS examination in Organic Chemistry: The Official Guide". It covers two semesters of orgo so you'll be using it next semester as well, and you can use it as extra DAT study material if you want, so it's a good bang for the buck.

Also.... Office hours.

I agree with this. Second language, books 1/2. A worthwhile investment for sure.

First step would be Chad's videos. It's by far one of the best learning tools I have ever encountered. I got high marks for both semesters of organic, but used Chad's videos to prepare for the DAT and I feel like I could have aced the course with the highest score in the class if I had known about Chad back when I was taking the course. He's THAT good - highly recommended.
