hey guys,
I am wondering if I can still apply to NYCPM. I hope I am not late and if I am ok with DAT score of 19 and gpa of 3.1. I think this is a very low score but I am just going to try for this cycle. I heard the school say that they have january class also. I have done about 200 hrs of community service and going to shadow a podiatrist. I am very confused so need some advice. Please. Thanks

NO. You know how they say nothing good happens at bars after 12 am? Nothing good happens the last month of the podiatry cycle. If you are confused AND have not followed a podiatrist, WAIT and make an informed decision. Remember how you thought if getting dumped before prom was the end of the world? It wasn't. Not getting into pod school this year will not be the end of the world either.

I'd say give it a try. I shadowed a podiatrist, applied, interviewed, and was accepted in a span of 18 days last month. You just have to work quickly.

I was dental first too, 2.9 GPA and 21 DAT, they accepted me opened armed with scholarships at a few schools. Go for it

if ur a "grlfrmmd" i would def check out temple if they are still accepting applications. also it gives u the ability to choose the right school.

i was speaking in terms of timing. anything this late is likely not well thought out and a act of desperation. (possible, face it).
We would wonder someones intentions if they applied this late in the cycle having already taken the MCAT, let alone the DAT.
But hey, we are not the pod app police, so do whatever floats your boat. I hope you are making the right decision, whatever it is.

on the flip side if they are accepting apps, im sure they realize it. also the school would rather get 25k/yr then let the seat go unfilled.

I interviewed at AZPOD and they had my dental file on the table with them right there, and also knew I interviewed a few weeks earlier. They know.

Barry sent me an email saying they were done interviews and i still got one. so who knows... but for the cost of apps... its worth trying to find out
