Sounds cheesey, but my friend has been accpeted to medical school (me too hopefully) in the fall. Tuition will probaly be 35-40k depending on his selection...we were talking last night and he mentioned that he has about enough to pay for the first year 😱 (later says about 45k b/c he has been riding a scholarship) I was pretty shocked...he also has no car. I have been trying to convince him to get something a bit nicer in the 15k range (he likes cars too), but he is worried about the cost of school... I think he should do it as there will not be much cash when he goes to school...opnions?

More general question....I have heard that you pay for school with loans and cover living out of your own pocket so you need alot in the bank. True? would say 45-15= 30k be ample to live comfortably?

We talking US or abroad? What medical school? Is it accreditated or a Touro-type operation? And who the hell charges 40K for just tuition, that seems steep.

Save money, and if needed for 3rd yr rotations, then buy a used Toyota/Honda from old friend or family
