A real good friend of mine was just diagnosed this past weekend with AML. 57 y/o seasoned physician and incredible athlete/human being.
He starts chemo today.

Yup. One of our young surgeons was killed this past weekend in an auto accident. 39yo. 😢

Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
 
Aweful. Wife and kids I’m sure. 🙁🙁.

No, a bachelor so that tragic aspect was avoided. Very nice guy though. Young at heart - little bit of a goofball but still a competent surgeon. Easy to work with. Really hit the whole hospital hard.

Even when you’re in country they can be a pain to get to but if it’s a sunny summer day, which it usually is in that part of France, it’s worth it. Whenever work really starts to get to me I look at these pictures and remind myself, “This is why I work.”
