Hi,

Does anyone know when the next UIC adcom meeting is? I was just interviewed there about a week and a half ago, so I guess I missed the feb. adcom meeting since my online status page still reads "application in process" or something like that.....

any word on the next adcom meeting would be appreciated....thanks and good luck to UIC applicants.

It'll probably be in the Week of 21st March. Good luck :luck:

when i interviewed I was told it would be on mar 10. So decisions should show on the status page on mar 14. can't freaking wait.

I hear you!....got my fingers crossed..... :scared:

I checked this am, but not change. Either they haven't met or maybe I got bounced. Anybody notice a status change on the UIC web site?

No change for me either, but maybe they don't update the website right away in the morning.... Good luck!

Hey All,

No change for me either as of right now. I interviewed on February 17 in Peoria.

Hey guys, my status page changed! It now says: A final decision was made on your application on 03-14-05. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone.

I intereviewed on February 23rd, I think. And now, back to the waiting game.

Heck yeah! Mine changed today also. I hope this means what everyone here says it means i.e. an acceptance. Congrats Pen1.

ok, so i've just been waiting for interview invites via snailmail from the last two schools that haven't rejected me yet (UIC and Loyola)...I check the mail everyday and when there's nothing, I just forget about it til the next day. I've been doing this for weeks and I finally realized that perhaps it's getting a bit "late" in the process and maybe I should have gotten SOMETHING in the mail by now.
I finally remembered that there is a status page for UIC and after checking that today it says Interview Letter Date 2/21/05!?!? does this mean i should have gotten a letter in the mail a couple weeks ago??? I've gotten nothing! what does it say on your page??? mine also says "Please choose your interview date carefully. We can not change your interview appointment once the date is selected." and gives the table for available interview dates. The current status is "Application is in Process".

I'm going to call them tomorrow morning anyway, but should I suspect the postal service ****ed me over???

I didn't check my status page either and received an interview invite in the mail, I believe. Don't worry, though, they're still interviewing, and as far as I know it's still for regular admissions instead of waitlist. Also, I'm sure they'll be understanding about the whole thing and it will all work out. Good luck!

Oh boy, I hope so! I totally forgot about those old threads, but now I'm so excited! I hope it's true. Congrats to you too, if it is!

I expect something in the mail by this weekend if the letter was sent earlier this week. Now I wonder how realistic it is that chicago is still open.

When I interviewed, they made it seem like the Chicago spots would likely be filled by the time we heard back (although they weren't definite about it), but it sounded like we were right on the cusp of getting a chance at Chicago. So I'm hoping to get a transfer right after May 15th. It sucks that we might not find out about that until after we have to decide.

For what it's worth, they also told us at my interview that most years about 50% of accepted applicants hold a spot in the class, but this year it was more like 80%.

I received my letter today. I'm super stoked! Now I'm just begging to get a spot in chicago.

I don't know of anyone who got Chicago in the last round of acceptance (from previous threads). However, if someone dropped this past month, then people in this batch may have a chance. So, you have to be really lucky to get Chicago now.

I got the UPR track last month even when I send in a letter begging for Chicago along with my site pref card. I went to UIC undergrad too..It's gonna suck if I have to move to Peoria, because I live in Chicago. 🙁

Congratulations JuanRafia! I got my letter yesterday! It's my first acceptance, so I went around telling everyone "I'm gonna be a doctor!!!" I'm sooooooo excited! Yay! 🙂

Now, if only I could somehow get into the Chicago campus....

Anyone know how they assign any Chicago spots that might open up if people drop their acceptances? For example, would they change someone's site assignment from the last batch, give the spot to whoever's card they next receive, or keep putting everyone in UPR until May 15 when they consider transfers?

Sorry for the neurotic questioning, but I'm really confused about their policy.

I've tried to find out their policy on site assignments, but the Admissions Office was really vague. It seems as if the remaining spots in Chicago were given out last month, but from what I gather, if people drop their acceptance in Chicago, the spot will go to someone in the next cycle instead of reassigning someone from the earlier cycle. I've read of a few people getting accepted in April (previous years) and getting assigned the Chicago campus - the only way this makes sense to me is the way I described above. Anyway, good luck with your assignment. Call them and see if you can find out more info, cuz I could be 100% wrong. Congrats too!
