i am a student at UIC, i have a 4.0 gpa and will complete 63 credit hours by may. By the end of next year i will finish all the requirements with a minimum gpa of 3.9. Is it possible to get into NOVA, or LomaLinda without a B.S? Assuming that i will pull a 20 on the DAT's-my reading score wont exceed a 17 though- Is it possible to get in?? what are my chances? Thank you for your help.

Of course it's possible, but whether or not it will happen is another story. A very small percentage of dental school matriculates didn't graduate from undergrad and having any degree is a tremendous advantage. In the absence of one, and besides having a good gpa and DAT scores, I would imagine that you would need to convey a strong sense of maturity to the adcom, demonstrate some relevent experience with dentistry, and so on. It sounds to me though that you are headed in the right direction. Best of luck! 👍

hmmm secret?? i guess its the desire to be a dentist
Sprgrover...thanks for your help

Loma Linda only accepts few out of all the applicants, and that's the reason they put me on hold I guess. My interview went perfectly in the begining, but at the end he asked me "I'm trying to figure out your graduation date..." and I told him I won't be done until winter of 2005, suddenly I felt the tension. And I know I'm screwed.

What's the case about Columbia, does anyone know?

Jooj,

Is your gpa out of 5.0 because I know UIC does things that way...if so your gpa is a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. After calling over there and looking at the web page it was evident to me that UIC students are on a 5.0 scale and they do things differently than most schools. If you have a 3.9, congrats...why not apply to UIC...you would be a shoe in with a 3.9/4.0 and it would be cheap!

actually starting spring 05 uic converted the gpa to a 4.0 scale. So mine became 4.0/4.0...UIC accepts one or two students without degrees. I am learning that most schools are like that and i guess im going for my major. Uic is not that cheaper, its about 22000 "average a year for 4 years" I would rather pay a little bit more and go somewhere nice..although uic is an excellent school.
