  • B.A. History from one of the University of California schools
  • Strong ties to Texas (hs grad and parents' residence)
  • ORM
  • cGPA: 3.66
  • sGPA: 3.4 (post-bacc GPA: 3.97)
  • MCAT: 513 (129,127,130,127)
I did a post-bacc for the past two years, but my low sGPA is from my freshman bioengineering year (2.7) in 2011 so there is an upward trend.

I was expecting a higher MCAT score (got my score today) to offset my lower GPA, so I'm now having trouble figuring out which schools outside of Texas would be worth applying to especially as a nontrad. I currently live in Boston, but I don't have MA residency.

I'm also wondering if I have too many "reaches" and not enough "targets?"
Open to any suggestions, thanks!

You have too many reaches with your GPA's and MCAT score. Consider these schools with your stats:
Vermont
Quinnipiac
New York Medical College
Hofstra
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
GW
Georgetown
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
St. Louis
Creighton
Tulane
Einstein
Rochester
Miami
Tufts
Boston University
Cincinnati
You can try the Texas schools because of your connections there.
