Noob Game 2017 - SIGN UPS CLOSED

Have you seen the WW (Werewolf) threads around here and wondered just what exactly they were? Have you wandered into a thread, only to see talk of lynching and murder and decided to run quickly in the other direction? Did you find yourself a little intrigued despite your misgivings? Maybe you even played a game or two, but you only lived like three days and were confused the entire time? Is your username NOT @StayingPositive2017? (I'm sorry, I had to)

If any of the above applies to you, please consider playing in the upcoming 4th Annual Noob WW game! It will be a basic game, an introduction to the wonderful world of Werewolf, and you will be paired with a veteran player (manator, to use the correct terminology) who will mentor you (the manatee) along the way.

Speaking of manators, if anyone can find those really great posts that described WW and whatnot, please post a link in this thread for the nooblets to see.

Dates for the game to be decided at a later time, it will probably be during winter break ~sometime~. Expressing interest here does not constitute any kind of contractual obligation to play, outside of the fact that I will bug you about it for the rest of eternity 😉

I think part of the intrigue of this game is not-so-friendly banter it requires. But behind the scenes and on other threads, you guys are all nice to each other.

You signed up for secret santa... I recommend getting even more into SDN and trying out a WW game. They're fun, only a little addicting (lie) and are great to pass the time if you're mid-application cycle (or just otherwise like party games). Read the link posted above for exactly what they are and what is expected, but basically Mafia played in online format.

What I can piece together is that this is an online terrestrial werewolf game (that somehow involves aquatic manatees?) where old and new SDN members link up... to do what? I don't know. I'm hesitantly interested. I am an educator and will have three weeks off this Christmas break so if we're hunting werewolves, I'm in? Pokemon snap meets Harry Potter?

Well, in my defense I am a high school science teacher and am used to having to simplify complicated topics. You, my friends, need some training in this for those of us who are ignorant. 😉

I'll read the description after work, but dang - doesn't look good for whoever would be matched with me. Even the first line has me killed, "WW is a game of a small informed minority (the wolves) trying to killed off a confused, uninformed majority (aka Me)."

Manatee = mentee, manator = mentor. Basically you'll have an experience player to PM with who can give you tips on how to play!

So I might be asleep late at night due to the time difference, oorrrr I might just be really drunk the whole time.
