Is it normal to be on HOLD FOR INTERVIEW at SIX lower-tiered/average med schools??

why not?

i got held for interviews at like 3 places that i dont consider to be high up my list relative to MSU.

it happens.

maybe they think you are overqualified for their school??

the reasoning behind these decisions is anyone's guess.

but at least they decided to hold you instead of reject you outright.

It's normal to be on hold at any school that takes applications. Holds do stink though, but they can turn into postitive things. My friend was on hold for 3 months and then got an interview in April and an acceptance 2 weeks later. So holds sometimes work out. Good luck

A hold is always better than a rejection. There is no hope in a rejection, but you always have the chance of an interview in a hold.
