Hello all,
So td;lr I am a non-trad trying to pull her GPA up and apply to any med school, however with the new GPA policy for DO schools, my uGPA will not budge. I'm currently scrambling to get into an SMP.
I'm trying to write my personal statement, but I don't know what to write. I don't feel like my story isn't worthy of a future doctor. It isn't razzle-dazzle. Its full of mistakes. I don't feel like a moderator would read about me and think "oh this is truly a diamond in the rough!"
I graduated a Japanese studies major and was very involved in the international side of campus. Junior year I decided that I was going to become a physician. This past year I have tried living on my own for the first time, working as both a medical lab technician and medical assistant, and retaking classes I got a C in. I've only been able to raise two to B/B+, hopefully this semester I'll have two A-'s. . What I would love is somehow be able to combine my passion for cultures and medicine. All I can seem to see are my faults, but the only positive thing I know is my perseverance. I've had many people try to discourage me. I've had to fight ADD, depression and anxiety. I've had to endure verbal abuse at my job, but I'm still fighting.
How can I use this to write a good PS?
