someone should call their school advisor and ask how many spots these texas schools typically offer off the waitlist. I think advisors are privy to this info that we are not, or cannot easily find.
 
Got my UTMB waitlist letter today also!! I'm in Pennsylvania.🙂

Anyone that interview not get on the waitlist?
 
I just got TAMU. Hope I see some WL movement. TAMU was my top choice.

I guess I'll reply here too. Mine also says "high priority," but it's nothing to get excited about as it's probably just telling you to read the email ASAP and has nothing to do with your position on the waitlist. Sorry.

I too got on the A&M waitlist! Wasn't my first choice but I would more than gladly go there. I got mine at 3:14pm CST. I wonder if the time at which you got it means anything I mean it could easily be sent out in alphabetical order, which is probably how the list is ordered or by how early in the season your interview was etc. Also, I went into the admissions office of UTHSCSA (not UTSA lol) last Thursday and they said if I didn't get a letter in the mail by last Friday or Saturday I was not on the list. Since I was there in person (I work at HSC) they checked the list and verified that I was not on it. If you can't wait anymore just call and ask them they were able to tell me in < 1 minute.
 
Well TAMU didn't waitlist everyone because my friend wasn't wait listed there. So it is somewhat selective 🙂
 
i got email about A&M WL too
i received my email at 2:35pm CT
it does seem like the alternative pool is extensive though
so we have to send a mail to A&M saying that we want to be on the list now?

Inteviewed Tulane- last Thursday
Interview Loyola (Stritch)- Next Thursday

Has UTH made waitlist contacts yet or do we have to call?
 
I read on Tech's website that the wait list will be posted friday morning at 9.

I don't know if I like this whole wait list system. I am worried all it does is give many of us false hope. One hour I am excited and think I might get in, then the next hour I feel like crap and like a failure. Ever since 11-15 I have been pretty much a wreck.
 
Does anyone know if TAMU is a rank list or just a pool?
 
I'm thinking about sending Dr. Jones at UTSA an update letter. I have my name on two papers that are about to be sent out----does anyone know if its worth it to say you have two papers "submitted"?
Does anyone know the best way to put that?
 
TAMU's list is unranked. and yea, it does seem somewhat unselective. needless to say, i'm not as excited about being waitlisted as i was before.

waitlisted at UTMB, UTSW and TAMU... don't think i got WL at SA since i didn't get anything... but then again the mail box here in my sorority is like a dog house... i share 1 box with 3 sisters...

The Entering Year 2007 alternate list for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine will be available here on Friday, March 02 at 9:00am. In order to find out if you have been selected for the alternate list, you'll need your Secondary Application login credentials. On Friday morning, there will be a link to the alternate list status, where you'll then be prompted for your login information."

I think it would be best to call UTH. My friend got an email from Dr. Kellaway yesterday that said they hadn't finalized waitlists yet, but on here I also have heard some people are getting calls of acceptance to UTH. 😕

I don't think i waitlisted there either, I haven't received a letter. It's okay, it's TCOM or bust now! (personally though, i vote bust which is why i'm already registered for the May 25 MCAT). :meanie:
 
Has anyone tried to login to see if they're on the Tech WL? I clicked the link and it asks for my login which I assumed was the same as the Tech status page but it won't let me log in. I was wondering if anyone else has tried. Thanks.
 
I just checked Tech and there was a message saying I was on the list. That's 4 waitlists I'm on now haha--I'm changing my name to rowdywaitlist
 
Well I'm on TCOM's waitlist, so I assume those like me would be in the most favorable situation for the waitlist domino effect.
 
So did you use your SSN as your login and your TMDSAS # as your pin?

it's not your social and it's not your tmdsas pin. When we filled out the secondary we submitted our own username and password.

Just got an email reply from Tiffany Reyes at UTH:
Yes, you do appear to me on our waitlist. The letters will probably go out early next week. The list is an unranked list. If a position opens all applicants on the waitlist will be reviewed.

I am to scared to call or email them.

When you emailed Ms. Reyes, did you just ask if you were on the wl?
 
I called the office and I am officially "not on the waitlist at this time" for UT-Houston either. She did mention that there may be slight changes to this list but by the tone of her voice my chances doesn't sound too great for me at this point. I am officially on the UTHSCSA waitlist though.

Sorry to hear about UTH🙁

I am getting the shaft in a differnt sense. I called to ask about my WL status and they wouldn't tell me anything. I mean come on, I am an OOS student who interviewed in September, and haven't heard a peep. You would think they would at least give me something to work with. 🙁

I just emailed her today and asked if the WL was ready and if I was on it; she got back to me pretty fast. Try emailing her Monday. Good luck, friend.

yeah 8 spots were just given today. And thinking more about the numbers. there is no way that they offered 401 acceptances and only 295 matched. UTSW is too popular of a school for most kids to turn down to go to another one. Therefore, I am convinced that the numbers mean something else. And why did they shut our thread down? I don't get it... and where's the troll?
 
So for UTSW. If the waitlist email says you're in the:

Top 10%, you're #1~#23
Top 25%, you're #24~#57
Top 1/3, you're #58~76
Mid 1/3, you're #77~#153
Bottom 1/3, you're #154~#230

Well, it depends. If UTSW's eventual offer number this year is anywhere close to last year's, anyone in the mid 1/3 or above have a chance. But again, this year is different than the last.
 
Although i think the newest e-mail gives people a good idea of where they stand... the first e-mail said they dont rank in precise sequence. I'll take that to mean they are gonna obviously try to balance their class while accepting people off the waitlist.
