NOVA 2014 Interview Process.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Guys please don't fall for this..these people say they will admit 20 seats for international dentist, but last year they took only 7 of them out of 47 students ...
This was shocking for me though..I have applied several times here but they always give more preference to Latino students..difficult to believe but very true ....
So donno as far I have heard and experienced this is how it is...

?

ok guys best of luck for the interview. Here is to clarify any doubts you may have, Nova used to have 20-30 seats for international grads now its come down to 8-10. As far as preference for Latinos goes, no its not true. It just happens that since Nova is in south florida, there is a large latino application pool hence large number of latinos get in, but in general its a good mix of people. As far as the rumor goes about choosing people who are previous MS/AEGD etc, no no no... it is totally based on your resume and if you would fit into the mould Nova is searching for in their candidates. Do not rely on the night previous to the bench test for a practice round, that is solely to get you used to the instruments and work stations, practice wherever you can and get your preps accessed by a dentist from the states if that is possible.

As far as 3 yrs of studying goes it doesnt matter, 3 yrs will go by quickly and you have a strong clinical experience at Nova. check out the extended stay which is close by to Nova for accomodation or else there are tons of hotels in an area called plantation which is 15 min drive away.

Did you went to Nova?

Hi guys!
How are y'all doing with the studies for the case analysis presentation? If someone could share any difficulties or something that could help regarding to these cases it would be nice. How and where are you getting the answers?
Personally, I don't think that is too easy... Does anyone has a book or ebook that helps responding those questions?

Anybody got the admission call from Dr. Lippman?

Please let the community know if anyone of you got the admission call from Dr. Lippman?

When do you think they are going to call? today?

They said that they are going to announce this Monday or Tuesday.

Nothing. Are they supposed to call everybody or just the lucky ones?

No call today for me. Do you know if someone has received a phone call?

They already started calling. Did anybody got the call?

I called them and they said that they already started calling. They are not willing to share the status on phone.

$2500.00 + Other expenses down into the toilette

I just received an email and i was not accepted. Good luck.

I think they are sending the emails in alphabetical order. What is the first letter of your name?

Does anybody know on what basis they will select the candidate?

I think you need somebody who recommend you or be working there

Everybody is quiet

just curious- how many people did they fool this year? How many people were invited and how many accepted eventually?

I just want to say that they stole our money, that's what i feel. First that all, they asked $2500.00 and a lot of desperate international dentists applied with the hope that it is going to be a fair process. We were 50 and I feel that some of them were sure that they are going to be selected. Some applicants who were accepted are working in the university, attended the lab for practicing, and are recommended from friends, employees, family or politicians. You paid $2500.00 and the lunch that we got was a bunch of cold sandwiches with soda or water. Also, there was not case presentation ( some students could increase their chance with it) and one of the teachers at the laboratory was very arrogant (speaking French, etc). I was not accepted but I feel there is little chance to be accepted without extra help. However, a few got accepted without help and they deserve credit for that. Congratulations.

I Don't want to act smart here but "I HAD WARNED EVERYONE"! anyway best of luck- you will get into a better program soon.

Manthara, you were right. This is very unethical. All applicants has not the same opportunity. I was preparing the case presentation for a while and I am sure that my preparations were fine.
