naw i haven't received nething. the tuition you could find that out in ur webstar (getting ur nsu id and pin thru their website ) and lookin at ur financial aid info. and lookin at cost of attendence. the budget is 86grand approx. 46 for tution 12k for books and laptop lab, instruments n crap. i think

the medical info, i went to the link on the orientation page and printed out the boosters i need and vaccin verification i had with my physicans. you need a tentus, hep b blood work , chickenpox immunity check and 2 step TB Skin test.

Hi Everyone!
I was just recently accpeted and I am very happy about it. I am trying to find out about housing arrangements as I currently live in NYC. Did anyone make housing arrengements yet on campus??? Thank you for your help.

Hi! I'm in the same boat, from Canada. Looks like there's a decent website for finding roommates and such with a link to it above, I haven't looked to far into it though. It would probably be ideal to have a fellow D1 as a roommmate...

Shaiya, I wouldn't recommend the grad housing at Nova. Although you don't have to deal with separate bills for utilities, that is probably the only pro - I don't think anyone I know is happy living at Rolling Hills. It's not exactly on-campus, and although it is nearby and there is a shuttle bus that runs between, there are other apartment complexes that are closer and potentially cheaper. Try the Nova Off-Campus Housing website to start. If you want to live within walking distance, take a look at these communities:
- Sunforest (by far, the most popular in my class; there are 1 and 2 bdrms)
- Sundance (condos, so you have to find an owner that's renting)
- Cameron Cove (all 1 bdrms)

AMJ22, not that I'm discouraging you from finding a D1 roommate, but I urge you to think about it beforehand. You will be spending nearly 24/7 with them!

Hi again everyone!

Just curious -- to those already accepted (I got the call apr 22), How long does it take to receive the first package in the mail from Dr. Lippman, after you get the call asking if you're still interested.

Thank you for the info. I had no idea it wasnt that close to the school.
I will look into it and try to contact them as soon as possible.

Hi I got my package on Monday and I got accpeted on April 23rd. I think they send it out the day after they call you. Hope this helps.

Thanks Shaiya -- and sorry to bother you, but where abouts do you live? I'm in Canada, BC, and haven't received mine yet... just wondering where it could be!

After all that wait-list waiting though I think I can handle anything now ;-)

I still haven't gotten my second package in the mail. I guess I might have to wait till I go down there in a few weeks and just stop by the school to get that information!

I know how you feel. Did you get a slip in you rmailbox, because if you did it is probably at your Post Office. If not, I am thinking it is just taking longer since you are in Canada.
I live in New York City, so maybe thats why I received mine already.
Another option maybe could be to pay using a credit card?
Good luck!

Hi I was just wondering, did your letter of acceptance say that you need to send a letter confirming your desire to reserve a seat in the class along with the fee?
Thanks.

Now who is the SDN addict ???

Hey Btizzels,
How was orientation last year? What kind of things did your class do?

Sorry it took me so long to reply, i haven't been on SDN that much.

Um lets see if i can remember that far back. They like introduced us to everyone faculty member on the planet, and told us some of the rules of the school, conduct, etc. Pretty basic/boring stuff actually. The coolest thing we did was the Canadian soap carving exercise that they do for the DAT. Don't worry it isn't for a grade so don't stress. Maybe SMCohen can add in the gaps....

Now who is the SDN addict ???

Hahah I've been procrastinating... don't want to study for Oral Histo!

As for orientation,

There are a lot of boring talks, like btizz mentioned. According to this year's orientation schedule (http://dental.nova.edu/orientation/forms/schedule.pdf), it looks like your class will be participating in a critical thinking study, rather than the soap carving one. Wednesday is laptop distribution and Thursday is instrument distribution... that was okay, probably the best part of the week in my opinion.

Okay! SO I ended up getting my package today! Few questions if anyone happens to be in the know... the school has asked to for official transcript showing that I have finished 6 hours of english credit with a C or higher grade... but the only English I ever took was in High School, for which the IB program awared me a 6 out of 7, for which my Canadian University awarded me 6 credit hours of english. Do you think Nova wants an IB transcript or am I on the hook for finishing 6 credits of English this summer? Obviously Ill call them on Monday, just curious if anyone can guess...

Also, they have asked for one 'reference letter'...does anyone know any specific about this?

Sorry for the long-windedness. You'd think getting an acceptance notice would actually LOWER the confusing madness...

Does NOVA notify you when they receive the deposit check?

HAHAH NOOOOOOOOOOO.... jus call them and ask🙂but if u sent to the 3200 s. uni. drive
(attention to dental school) u should be finee
