Nova interviewees - were u rejected yet?

Nah. my status had been completely blank for nova this entire cycle (even after being invited for interview, after interview..etc) until now.

I thought I did well on the interview too....but then again, I interviewed the second last day (feb. 26)...so I guess I cant say I didn't see it coming...

Hey guys... just checked predents.com and saw they accepted someone on March 6th... So I guess they already sent out the acceptances for this month.

Hello thanks for keeping people update. How did u notice the acceptance of that person cause i went to the page and did not see anything. Thanks

It was me who got accepted. My status changed to offer made, no calls. I have declined the offer last week and also my application from many other schools because I am attending UMDNJ-NJDS.

I don't know what to think anymore. I keep thinking that next time will be my turn, but everytime next time comes around I am still left out in the cold. Oh well, not much to do at this point but sit and wait.
 
I have waited and good news has finally come my way. I am IN!!!! I got the call from Dr. Lippman today. I can't wait to go to FL. Today is a great day.

For those of you still waiting, keep your head up. I know what you are going through, but that call may be coming at anytime!! Best of luck to you all!!

Congratulation! I sincerely congratulate with all my heart. I knew you would get in. Unfortunately, I am still the odd one out and desperately wait for the call... Ah.. well... fine.

Well keep your head up. It is NOT over yet. I will be hoping and keeping my fingers crossed for you:xf::xf:. I still have faith that I will be seeing you in FL this summer.
 
This post both excites and scares me... seeing as how I am pretty impatient. The whole waiting thing may give me a heart attack. Good luck to those still waiting.

Congratulations! I can just imagine how you feel. I am still waiting also. Would you happen to know if there will be accepting more people this month or anytime soon?

Honestly, I am not sure. I thought it was weird to be getting a call after they had already handed out acceptances in early March. My GUESS is at this point they are handing out acceptances as soon as they find a spot come open.

Haha, told you not to give up hope 🙂 Congrats, see you next year. Enjoy life before you get here, Dental school will pretty much take over your life. Oh sleep in too because you won't get much in Dental school. But don't let me scare you it is totally doable, you just have to put in the effort.

First post here.
I interviewed at Nova on Feb 20th, found out last Monday that I was put on the waitlist and than received a call from Dr. Lipman this passed Tuesday!
Super excited to be attending Nova!
Everyone that hasn't heard anything yet, just stay positive. There is still the 2nd deposit deadline and that opens up a whole bunch of spots!

I wish I could find out where I stand on the list. Its really frustrating, I interviewed on Jan 28th & I still have not heard back from him. Its funny Nova was the first school to invite me for an inteview (sept 4th) and it was the last school that I inteviewed at. I want to start planning things but I am so darn stuck with this....
 
I interviewed early feb and haven't heard anything at all, so how did you find out you were waitlisted
 
You can call admissions. I interviewed with Ms. Zarrett so I was in contact with her and she let me know about the wait-list.
 
I keep calling admissions and also the number provided on ms.zerrits card and no one is answering the phone
 
I don't know now... Ah well.. I wish I get the call next time. But still there are lots of kids in the waitlist, and I have not been lucky based on experiences in the past.

Does anyone know how many kids usually drop out after the second deposit due?

I believe someone mentioned earlier on this thread that about 20% of the seats are available when time for second deposit is due. I am still not sure when that second deposit is due because is says May 15th on their website and people on this thread said April 15th. But one of the two, hopefully sooner than later.

I got my packet in the mail today, but I have to wait till Mon to get it. Once I have the packet I will see when deposits are due so that you know. Also, I would imagine that a number of people will drop when the second deposit is due because at that point only the people who are going to be there in the fall will be placing a deposit. Thus, all those who placed a deposit and were waiting for other schools will likely be letting go of their spots. I will be pulling for you!!!!
 
second deposit is due on 4/15 for me.

Your acceptance letters should tell you when they are due, and if not ask. As for gauging when spots are going to open up, they pop up randomly.
 
I just wanted to update you all. I got my packet and it states that the second deposit, at least for me, is due April 15th. So, I think it is safe to assume that activity will pick up shortly after that date. Best of luck to you all!!
 
Status updated to "Wait Listed" today. Interviewed Jan 22.
 
Those of you that sent in deposits to Nova, who did you make the check out to? NSU-CD?

I have one question that I have been wanting to ask. I am on the waiting list at nova since mid-Feb. I talked to Dr. Lippman several times over the phone since then. He wrote my name and my phone number down each time I talked to him. I talked to him last Friday(3/20/09) and he told me to give him till Monday so he could look at my file. I still haven't heard anything yet. Does this mean that I am not a good-enough applicant? I am very confused and depressed. I don't know what to think anymore. What do you think that I should do now? I am preparing to study for the DAT again...
Here is my stats:
(AA/TS/PAT): 20-20-16
Science GPA: 3.6...
Overall GPA: 3.6...

you might want to increase ur pat score. everything else looks pretty good to me. my stats were similar to urs 3.6 for both cumulative and science. my dats scores were similar as urs too 21/20/21(pat). however i had extensive experience by working at the dental clinic and had really good lors. i don't think ur gpa is a problem nor ur dat score (except the 16 on pat which is kind of low ) hope that helps

Well i think your real problem is that you interviewed so late, and they have to wait for people to decide not to accept their offers of admission. Did you apply late? And if not did you call after December 1 to try and reschedule your interview earlier? Your stats are good, wouldn't worry about the PAT, it really doesn't mean anything anyway.

How did your interview go? Did it seem to flow naturally or was it awkward, and who did your interview? Give Dr. Lippman a call, he was probably busy, at this point it can't really hurt you, it will just show that you really want to go to Nova, but definitely don't call everyday or anything annoying like that.

Retaking the DAT is the only that I can do to show the schools that I am very much interested in dentistry. Dr. Lippman and Dr. Galka interviewed me that day. It went really went, I think. We laughed the whole time during the interview. I am taking Microbio and Human Anatomy at a JC now, so I don't know if these classes will do me any good for this cycle. Between 2/26-now I called Dr. Lippman three times. Is that too much? Should I call him later this week if I don't hear anything from him? OR should I just wait and see if that phone call is gonna come?
 
I also interviewed mid february and have not heard back from nova. I have called them but it is hard to get a response. All that I know is that I have been placed on the waitlist. Seems like april 15th is the big day. Anyone know approx. how many spots open up on avg. after that day?

Um well hold off on all the calling, if your interview went well the it is probably just a matter of them waiting for people to not send in their deposits before they offer acceptances to anyone else. There is still a chance you will get in this year so hold off on the DAT for now. If I were you I would call at most once a week, or maybe every other week.
 
Those of you that sent in a deposit to Nova, how long was it before your status on AADSAS was changed to "offer accepted"?

Mine was never updated to "offer accepted", but you can email them to check if your deposit has arrived or not. I put down my deposit since beginning of Feb.

On another note, for those who are waiting, I will soon be withdrawing my acceptance from Nova and opening up a spot.
 
Does anyone know a number that Nova will actually answer?? A friend of mine has been trying to call for like a month now (hes on the waitlist) and he can never get through.

Did he try calling first thing in the morning? I always got through when calling around 9-10AM.
