NP status on CASPR?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
any help with some clarification on this? i thought all programs had to participate in the caspr/crip program?

I think it means that those hospitals are not participating (NP) any longer in the residency program.

also, from what I understand a few of the programs closed because of the switch from 2yr to 3yr. Some hospitals were not capable of handling the change so they shut down the program altogether. Hopefully they will do whatever is necessary to open these programs up again and hopefully others will open up as well.

Are you sure about this? There were tons of programs on that list with the NP status. I'd say almost 1/6 - 1/5 or more of the programs. That would be a ton of them shutting down at once

Doesn't it mean they are not participating in the match/CRIPS? Meaning you have to apply/interview at the program directly.

From looking at the top of the list (using your logic), I wouldn't expect SCPM to be closing down its residency. Doesn't seem to make sense.

Podfather and I posted the answers to this in the duplicate thread in Pod resident forum. Here's your answers:

So basically, if the program is still listed as NP, they probably just haven't completed their registration yet?

I've seen 3 or 4 different answers on whether or not programs HAVE to participate in CASPR. I do understand that CRIP is optional, but am still confused if CASPR is mandatory.

Thought my linked post outlined it all?

Date = 9/9/9999 on the website directory means no paperwork yet
CRIP = pod residency programs that choose to attend
CASPR match = all pod residency programs

GL on clerkships
