I am a fourth year. If I register for the NRMP match now, can I still get out of the match later if I decide to not participate? In other words, by registering for the site, I am not committing completely to the match yet, am I?

You can always withdraw and if you don't submit a rank list it is in a sense withdrawing because you are not participating. Also, if you match into a DO spot you are no longer eligible for an allopathic spot if you are applying for both.
