I'll be turing my spot down soon as well....so there's another one out there for you 🙂
Have any of you guys that have been accepted to Nova gotten your acceptance packets yet? How long did it take after the phone call?
I interview tomorrow but never received the packet in the mail. The invitation e-mail says the day begins at 9AM. Is that right? Also, I'm staying at the Comfort Suites. They said their shuttles leave on the hour, so I guess I'm taking the 8AM shuttle. Hopefully, I won't get their way too early. Anyways, any info on the schedule, important info in the packet, etc. is much appreciated. Thanks.
yeah I think maybe wait for Rachel to call you... interviewers said wait about 2-3 weeks! Plus it could be more exciting getting that "you are accepted" call! Call her back if you haven't heard from her in more than 3 weeks!
P.S. I think I know which one of the NYorkers you are from our interview day! 😛
Like girl that has many other options... She'll call you
Since the adcoms meet every Wed at Nova and the dean makes a decision on Friday, do you guys think if I called in on the Monday after my interview (technically when the decision should have been made already) that Rachel would let me know over the phone?
Wait they meet every Wednesday? I'm guessing that means I'm unofficially on hold. It's been about three weeks. Maybe I should call.
not true, i know people that interviewed weeks before i did and they heard weeks after
I haven't interviewed. I was told three weeks ago that my app was "currently being reviewed". Nothing since.
Just relax!!!!😎 It took over a month for me to hear!😴
when they called my house my dad picked up the phone and answered. My dad then called me and told me i was accepted, it was kind of surreal.
Does anyone know the cutoff numbers for first round interviews gpa and mcat?
I had a 3.8 cum 4.0 science, from a top 20 school, and a 23 MCAT, and I got in into NSU. As for cutoffs, when i interviewed i was told by the admissions that the cutoff was a 23, but now that the class is filled i assume the cutoffs will increase to a 25ish.
If that's true then I hope they just reject me soon instead of dragging it out and making me wonder.
the aacomas handbook says nsu minimum gpa is 3.0 and mcat is 24. if you dont believe me see for yourself on the aacomas website
I believe you. That is what it says on the AACOMAS NSU page but not what NSU had listed on their website otherwise I wouldn't have bothered submitting the secondary.
from things i have heard, NSU is more selective in giving interviews rather than rejectnig people after they have been interviewed. So if you get an interview you have a really good shot at getting in.( i was told 80% at my interview but even that seems extreme) If you havnt heard in like 3 months, odds are your application has been tossed.
Three months from submitting my secondary or three months from being complete? 😛
since NSU sends secondaries to everyone without a screen, i would say after being complete. The screening takes place only after the aacomas app, MCAT scores, signature page, and online secondary are submitted. (LOR's arent requiresd for the screening the process)
Well I sent my secondary and signature page around the first or second week of September. They have had my LORs for just over two weeks now. I think what is making me impatient is that they said three weeks ago that my app was currently being reviewed. I'll give them a call after Thanksgiving and see if I can get an update.
there is a good possibly that they are simply waiting until after the dec 14th deadline. Once NSU realizes that several people have declined their acceptance, they will open up interviews for more non-trads.
Yeah to be honest I'm very excited about December 14. How late into December do you think schools interview?
you seem like a decent person EEL08, and i wish you the best. i think you will get into a school,(not sure which one at the moment) but in the end i think you will end up somewhere. you seem like a very motivated, headstrong individule, and with those traits you can never go wrong.
Can anyone tell me if it's a bad idea to call Rachel this Monday and ask her if I'm in or not? I interviewed 11/9 and according to what she said, adcoms should have met 11/14 and the dean should make a decision 11/16. I know it's freaking early, but I can't take the waiting. My interview went well, in my opinion, and I really need this acceptance for my sanity at this point (who doesn't?).
bump for my question

I would call to check the status of my app asap if I were you. Calling can do nothing but help. Things fall through the cracks sometimes.
