Greetings, future Nova classmates and any current pharmacy students. I filed my Fafsa application for financial aid/loan purposes last week and I'm wondering what's next in the process. When will I hear back from the school about the loan process and funds that I am eligible to receive? I already paid the $1,000 and have not heard a word concerning additional information about how I can make student loans or anything. What should I do at this point? Between now and July, I need to make arrangements for on-campus living and moving down to Florida, but I can't do any of this if I have no funds or any type of financial plan available. Thanks for your support.

My god, no posts yet after about three days? What is so unusual about this post? 😱

1st u need to fill out a fafsa application online. whatever u qualify for will be paid to nova and nova will deduct the fees/tuition and give u the difference by the 2nd week. so if u need money for housing i suggest you start working, borrowing money from parents, or get a separate loan just so you can start paying your 1st months rent/furniture, etc.

Yeah man don't worry, fafsa will be happy to loan you the money...just don't expect it to come during July when you need it the most (housing lease, etc..)

Thanks for responding. However, are you saying that I will not be provided with my loan money for housing before I move down there? That's kind of ridiculous and puts stress on me as well as other people moving around that area. What kind of money am I going to work for and save for housing when the cost of the cheapest dorm is $3,060? I will not be able to save that at all when I have other obligations and make $7.50-8.00 per hour as a pharmacy clerk working 30 hours a week. So, just more and more loans to borrow in the mean time. 👎 Now, if you're referring to renting an apartment or something, I can then understand that I cannot wait and will have to somehow pay the first month of rent before the funds for my dorm are disbursed. Otherwise, I'll see what happens.

I use either Chase Direct Loans or Astrive Direct Loans. Basically, after reviewing my application for the loan, whether I need a cosigner or not, and a process that usually takes 1-2 weeks, the money is in my ING Savings Account.

I usually do this 2-3 months prior to the start of the semester. I keep it in the ING account and unleash compound interest on it. When I need the money for a semester, I transfer the amount needed to the regular bank, get a bank check and take that straight to bursar.
