Sorry but you people really waste time writing pure crap on this forum - ppl should really post things they know about.

At my UF interview last year the dean of admissions says applications are up 40% this year NATIONWIDE. She said UF received 1053 applications last year and as of right now (cycle ends Dec 1st) they're above 1400 applicants. So yes, numbers are up this year.....

the only number that really matters is the number of applications that go through AADSAS. 10,000 applicants applying to 5 schools each is no different than 10,000 applicants applying to 10 schools each if you ask me. but according to each individual school they would say "the applicant pool has DOUBLED!" 🙄

i'm sure the application numbers may be up, but odds are they aren't up 100%, or even 50%... or even anywhere close to that. if they are up 10% that would be a big increase. the fact that the average applicant is applying to twice as many schools as 5 years ago really doesn't matter. you can only take one seat!

excellent point, orgo. the elimination of paper application has made it a bit easier for applicants to apply to more schools than in previous years. plus candidates for some reason are applying earlier than normal this year. so the individual schools are seeing spikes in their numbers right now that will plateau towards the end of the cycle. ultimately, when everyone fills their classes, the increase of applicants will be much lower than the 40% increase schools are seeing right now.

Sooooooo then the question is what is aadsas's number last year and what is it gonna be this year?
