damn, i hope they send more invites out soon cause i really want one haha
Same here CT resident grew up in NY went to NYU no interview yet, I think they do state by state but after NY I heard NJ and CT get priority (I would hope CT first since we have no DO school in the state lol)
Hey Everyone... NYCOM is starting its interviews on November 2nd. There will be 3 interview days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. With 2 interview groups on each Tuesday.

WTF😕 Can anyone verify this?
Yup. I applied last year (currently a member of the class of 2014), and I didn't submit my secondary until the day of my interview - I brought in a paper copy and a print out of my receipt/proof that I paid the secondary application fee.
They might have changed THAT policy for this year, if people are getting invites without secondaries, then they're still sending out invites based on the AACOMAS application.
Hmmm so based on this news....is it even worth it to submit a secondary? Should one just wait until one received an interview invite?
Policy is slightly different this year. In years past, a secondary invite was also an interview invite - not necessarily true this year.
Maybe, but why risk it? Put yourself ahead of everyone so your complete and possibly get an earlier interview date. Not everyone who received the secondary has gotten interview invites, so I would suggest doing it and submitting it. You can't schedule the interview until its submitted anyway.
Yeah. I'm going to submit a secondary and hope they actually read it and consider me for an interview.I'm more than what my primary says I am.
I am a student at NYCOM, we overhear when interview groups are coming through. How did you find this out!? I live so close, I might go to the admissions office and beg for an interview. ahhhhhh

NYCOM needs to speed things up with the invites already lol
How do they go about preinterview rejections here? (I'm assuming I'm getting one 🙁

Judging from the posts on this thread, I don't see too much interview action going on. So maybe NYCOM hasn't gotten to you yet?I know they must have received tons of apps. you should not give up just yet....
From what it sounded like last year, from people that I know who went through the process, things should pick up for nycom around December.
yeah it sucks but i dont mind waiting.... as long as i get an interview invite sometime in the future lolThat's really tough for people who have NYCOM pegged as their first choice.
Oh well. Guess that's just the nature of the application process.

Just curious, how many people here from New York, New Jersey, or Conn. that submitted everything before October didn't receive an interview invite yet. There seems to be a lot of us.
The secondary says to "list" all of the various work/research/volunteer experiences. Did you just list them or give a detailed explanation for each? I feel like I will be repeating myself a lot since it's all in the primary application.
NYCOM has Interviewed 40 applicants so far this week alone.... When you go to your interview just relax, They are not going to try and stump you. Its just a way to see your thought process, see how you interact with people etc... Also they want to make sure you are what your application says you are...
So roughly how many is that in a group per interview day? 10, a dozen or so? Posted by Longshanks
I just interviewed Nov 3, which I believe, from my understanding was the very first group of interviewees for this year. There were 10 of us that day.
Thanks for the info. I guess it was a mistake to wait to send the secondary until the invite. Wish I had sent it in right away. Hope that doesn't delay my invite if I ever get one!
Does anyone mind sharing some experiences from the interview day? Perhaps some questions you were asked...that sort of thing? I have an interview coming up and it would be nice to hear what the interview was like. Thanks all and good luck!

Hey everyone,
I interviewed at NYCOM on November 3rd. Honestly, it is NOTHING to worry about. It was a one-on-one interview and like Hungrykid and NYDR said, a very laid back and lax environment. They just want to get to know you and see what you are about. The campus, I thought, was really pretty and it is in a great neighborhood.
Anyway, for those of you guys who interviewed with me on Nov 3rd, any feedback yet? Each day for me is like the longest day EVER waiting for this response!

I just interviewed today (11/9) and asked when decisions are going out. The admissions faculty said that the first batch of decisions, including my week and you guys, should be going out mid December (around December 15th or so). A 4 week wait isn't that bad. Could be a nice holiday present!
do you guys think its late to submit a secondary? i got mine september 7th but I havent had a chance to complete it. its been a hectic semester.
Ah, that's so annoying though. NYCOM would probably be my top choice if things work out there (if the interview goes well, of course, and turned into an acceptance, and if I liked the school after actually getting a taste) but deposits elsewhere are due on Dec 14th 🙁. I don't want to have to put down $1000+ before hearing a final decision from NYCOM. I guess its a blessed situation to be in, but that 1k will hurt.
