Well, both of the last incoming NYCOM classes have had about 55% chicks, so you may have a shot by pure ratios. However, are they easy? Hmmmm. Not so much.
I don't know about easy but I've seen some pretty hot ones there, for a medical school.
im not going to school there, im going to a M.D. school. But I guess in general D.O. girls are much easier. I think there were a few research articles on this topic in Female Doctors Monthly.
Ignore Antgod...I know him and he's a trouble maker... Women at Drexel (where he's going) BEWARE!😀
Look on the bright side antgod, at least you won't be too distracted. I've been to philly and it doesn't get any better off campus.

the mamis at NYIT.... wink wink nudge nudge... i dunno NYCOM seems awesome.. its the closest med school, has pass of fail grading system, NYIT is on the same campus, private school, lots of connections......

I'm glad you guys think that NYCOM girls are hotter than the ones from other schools. I'll be starting NYCOM this Fall and on behalf of the NYCOM class 2007, I must say that I hope we keep our reputation for having the hottest girls in a medical school. By the way, everyone knows that DO chicks are prettier and nicer than MD chicks, there is no question about it.

wow i must be CRAZY, i got into NYCOM today and I turned them down. What was I thinking !!! I could of had all those hot nycom girls all over me. oh well. They probably dont go all the way anyways. I got a Compaq Presario 2100...I LOVE it! & it's got the wireless built in which will be great for NYCOM...they should be wireless w/in the next year or so considering NYIT just got it done.

I have no regrets in getting it...it's fast and has everything we'll need for med school and then some...it should last us both a very long time...all through med school and then some.
The wireless card is in it as well as the hook-ups for both a regular house phone and the ethernet card...(I only just learned what all that meant lol)
You'll be able to get online whether your school uses an ethernet hook-up, is wireless...or both.

I would try to move to a town called glen cove. Thats where most of the nycom girls live. I heard its affordable and after blocks, the girls all get together and have little pajama parties.
BYOP...bring your own pillow!
You could also try Port Washington or Sea Cliff.
Other areas close to the school are going to be hard to find good housing at a price that's anywhere near affordable.
Make sure you really start looking now to find a place...especially if you wanna be near the good PJ parties w/ all us HOT HOT HOT NYCOM girls!

This is soooo unfair. I have lived in Glen Cove all my life and I am moving this month to dix hills, right before I start NYCOM. 😕

Hey, I'm just another stud going to NYCOM...albeit a homeless stud. I figure I could live out of my jeep for alittle while, unless anyone needs a roomate. I dont even know where to start looking, I heard they have a housing page on the website but nobody is answering at the college so I cant get the password. Is there other usefull webpages? and how expensive is glen cove? I really must hurry only a month before we start. Thanks.

How come every time I call the NYCOM admission office the representatives act like I'm wasting their time? It sounds like they hate their job or something because the atitude i get is uncalled for, sure I might ask stupid questions but thats no excuse. Anyway I hope the rest of the faculty isnt like this..any thoughts?
P.S.- even the automated greeting sound slike its comming from a lady who just got her wisdom teeth removed. Why cant they at leastmake that cheerful.

my commute will be -45 min each way. i may be begging to sleep on some of your hottie couches during finals.
i hate the nycom people. first of all, i have received several pieces of info that were totally wrong and resulted in me notg getting the lender i wanted. seond, the only mail i have ever gotten is from the F.A office asking for money. otherwise i have had nothing like when orientation starts, what we need to but, do we need a physical, etc. and they have severe PMS in that office. oh, one other thing since i am bitching already, why can't nycom have a decent website? it's horrible!

Don't get too heated up over the financial aid people. They have always been a bit testy. They have to have the most boring job in the world, but I agree, they dont make their lives easier by being nasty. For the record, they're NYIT people and not officially part of NYCOM, hence you dont deal with them much except to pay you bill. My advice is to be as pleasant as possible to them and usually you get what you need. Keep on top of things. Send any correspondance to them return receipt requested. As far as you not getting the lender you want, I'm not sure it makes much of a difference, as they all charge the same rate mandated by the feds from what I was told. But, I'm far from an expert in financial aid matters. As far as finding out information from the school, dont bother with admissions. Orientation isnt their job. Call Student Affairs and usually they're pretty helpful. Linda Darroch-Short, the Director of Student Services, is incredible at her job and will help you with anything, I mean anything. Get access to the webboard if you havent already also. I imagine you'll be getting information about orientation within the next week or two. 🙂
Oh, and as far as the nycom website... yeah, it blows. They know about it. It's being upgraded as we speak supposedly. Sad thing is, the in-house technology here will blow most medical schools out of the water, it's just what they present to the rest of the world that sucks 😕

hey everyone,
i've already submitted my AACOMAS application to NYCOM for 2004 and i'm a bit confused on how they handle it. i read somewhere that you won't fill out a secondary until you arrive at the interview??? so does NYCOM select you for an interview based solely on the AACOMAS application? im also curious how long they will take to respond b/c ive gotten secondaries already from most of my other schools?? thanks for any input

seriously, from my experience with premeds, a lot of pre-allo's have some sort of attitude and thinking that makes them study all the time, never go out for a beer (or any other type of fun non-school related activity) and shut themselves out of the real world. now pre-dents on the other hand and pre-osteos on the other hand, appear more down to earth than snot heads like you.
a) pre-dent shouldn't even belong anywhere on your list, im insulted
b) i know a lot of "pre-allos" who go out all the time, and are more down to earth than any struggling 35 year old former chef/musician pre-osteo

How does every post in this forum turns into a DO vs MD? I personally have not met a cool pre-MD or MD student, yet. And, after shadowing, 3 MDs and 2 DOs, I decided to go DO. We are just nicer people and your attitude, Columbia guy, and your post is proving our point. Now, can we please get back to our topic: NYCOM girls!
