Since May 15th is approaching, I just wanted to start a thread so everyone can track how the waitlist is moving this year at NYMC...for all of us on the waitlist, lets hope it moves a lot! Gluck :luck:
 
i guess no movement thus far....but from previous years, applicants posted that they were accepted off the wait list around the last week of may...i hope that this happens this year as well...
 
FYI...Just called admissions today and asked when they would start taking people off the waitlist and they said they are "looking at it" right now. So take that for what it means but hopefully something starts happening within a week or so.

Just to let you guys know, [email protected] is the best place to email any letters. They really do count for more then you'd ever know (especially at times during waitlist). In addition I'd send in a hard copy of the letter just to make sure. Just to let you know, regardless of who you send your email to, it goes into your file and is reviewed/seen by everyone on the committee. Best of luck to all those on the waitlist.
 
I called today, the secretary said that they havent started on the waitlist yet
 
I hope they haven't - a bunch of people haven't heard that interviewed in the last two months (including me!).

called NYMC today, they said they just started looking at it.

The secretary sure sounded tired haha he could answer my questions before i even finished them..looks like they are getting a lot of calls.
 
I was just wondering if anyone else received an email about remaining on the waitlist. I got one today. So I'm assuming, from the silence of this thread, no one on the waitlist has heard anything thus far.
 
yea i didnt get an email to asking me to remain on the waitlist
does anyone know if they reject anyone off the list
 
yup got that email. i called them up, they are looking at all the open spots in the next few days i guess--they havent looked at it yet. no worries..hopefully
 
i've heard that nymc has a lot of waitlist movement but is this trend similar for this year? also, is there anything one can do while on the waitlist?
 
i am assuming that next week will be it at the earliest...because on wednesday..according to the sec, they were going to meet and jUST start looking at the spots...at this point though, who knows 😛 keep your chin up.👍

i'm running out of things to occupy myself with! ...i wish I'd know soon..that way i can just submit my amcas 08 and get up to bat again...then i can study for my mcats all summer long too..wooo 😛
 
Anyone ever get confirmation for their letters of intent/letters of interest after sending them to NYMC's email address?
 
they arent too good about confirmation, however they do recieve them and put them in.. mine were never confirmed, so i called awhile later, and they did indeed recieve them--calliing is best.
 
so i've already written NYMC an update letter, but this was before i found out that i was waitlisted. should i send them another letter expressing my interest or is that pointless since i don't really have any updates to give them?
 
i say go for it.....it doesn't hurt to show interest in a school.....i hope the best for you.....i'm also waiting to hear back after being waitlisted.....i hope they send acceptances soon....gluck
 
I was just emailed an acceptance this morning. I was not on the waitlist and had interviewed march 1st. Good luck guys. I think I ended up sending 3 letters over all. The first was a thank you/ interest to my interviewer (dr. sullivan). The second was an intent to Dr. Juster. The third was an intent to my interviewer again.
 
I called the admissions office this morning, just to ask about the waitlist. The woman I spoke to sounded very confident that they would begin accepting people from the waitlist this week. Good luck everyone!

Hahahaha, yeah, some of them don't like to talk to people. I called at about 8am pacific time.
 
acceptance e-mail today - waitlisted 5/16... my 1st acceptance!!! whew was ready to take 2 yrs off so relieved. good luck all!

I just got accepted off the waitlist today! Totally was expecting a late June or even late July response, if anything.

I wish you all the very best! Oh, and for the record, I interviewed on the 22nd of Feb and was Waitlisted early-May.
 
Congrats to those who just got in off the waitlist! I got in in may and I'm so excited. Registration starts around July 30 - less than 2 months away! Are you guys planning to accept? Hopefully I'll see you guys there!

i got my acceptanc email at..... woops. never got it 😡 haha. ahhh cmon nymc. congrats everyone else.
 
when i got the waitlist letter, i called and the guy said that roughly half the class comes from the wait list. so if the class is about 190, that would be 95 people. i don't know how many people are put on the wait list...
