NYU College of Dentistry Class of 2025 Interview/Acceptance Thread

I’ve heard a lot of negative things about NYU on forums I’ve been reading the last few weeks and it’s making me nervous.

Hey guys! I just finished my interview. It was covering the general questions and I really loved the conversation I had! If I remember correctly, my interviewer(he teaches DS2) said, "I hope I meet you again and you'll definitely gonna see me." I really hope I get an acceptance letter from NYU!!!
 
The interview felt really relaxed and conversational! Overall, I enjoyed it a lot, definitely the easiest interview I had so far 🙂
 
Did you reach out to anyone by e-mail prior to receiving the interview?
 
I also received an interview today. Does anyone know if D1 classes will be in person?

I interviewed last week and they said they cannot guarantee it because it is so unpredictable with COVID. But they also think they are heading that way I believe.

I looked up the faculty member who interviewed me and found their email but I think the admissions officer mentioned in the Q&A session not to email them directly and only send it to the admissions right? Or did I hear wrong because I heard about people sending it to the faculty directly?

Have people really found out a day or two after the interview if they were selected? I think I read somewhere they review peoples apps every Friday ?

I found out 3 days after my interview that I was accepted. Interviewed 1/12, accepted 1/15.
 
How y'all cope with the question on the portal, "Why NYU is a good fit for you?" I think that it'd be awkward if I copy directly from the one on AADSAS app.

Hey have you heard back? I interviewed on the 15th, also have not heard anything.

Don't send directly to the interviewers. Use the admission.nyu@`~~ thing.

Idk what to say bruh. If you did fine on the interview, you should get an update from NYU. Did the admission representative tell you about the expected decision date? For the students who did an interview in late Jan, the decision, they say, will come out within minimum 1 week maximum 2 week.

Nope still nothing. They did say it was “no guarantee”.

They told everyone “they will try (their) best to inform people of admission/waitlist/rejection within 2 weeks” in the post-interview email and during the actual interview day. No one has heard anything.
Are trying to imply that all of us who received interviews before you had bad interviews?

I actually sent a letter of intent to "[email protected]." I haven't received any information in regard to my interviewer. For those who interviewed on Jan 29, do you think it would take longer?

Yep, I just got it too lol. Do you remember the name of the admission committee member who lead the group welcome and Q&A?
 
Random question, but have people had any luck asking for their deposit back after holding their seat and getting accepted to another program? I am just waiting to hear back from another program and money is a factor lol.
 
Once you guys are accepted, be sure to add yourself to the NYU College of Dentistry Class of 2025 group! We are having happy hour chats so everyone can meet each other. 😊
 
Did anyone send a thank you letter to the post interview representative or the admission committee member?
