No tbh, I think now is the perfect time. From previous posts, it seems as though they have already sent interview invites this week. So now would be a good time to send it to ensure they consider you for the next batch of interview invites.

For those of you who've already interviewed, what's the format and how was it?
 
Hey! Can someone who interviewed please PM me? I have a couple of questions, my interview is in a few weeks, NYU is my top choice and I really would appreciate any feedback/help 🙂 !!
 
At this point, if someone submitted their application today, do you think they could receive an interview as soon as the end of next week / early the following week?

I submitted my app two weeks ago and got an invite last week. It’s def possible. (3.7 gpa 23 AA)

Starting from now, you can literally hear back the next day if you're accepted!
 
Hi Everyone! Will have my interview soon. Regarding the question from DDS interview questionnaire"Why is NYU a good fit" on the portal, how do you approach it? It's essentially the same question as the supplement. Thinking about rewording my supplement due to the words limitation.

Reworded it and got accepted so you should be ok
 
How long do you have to pay the deposit? Does it have to be paid all at once?
 
Yeah what is up with the $5000 deposit. It is ridiculous.

The deposit can be paid in 2 payments. The first payment would be $1500 and the second payment is $3500. The first payment is due one month from your acceptance. Pretty sure the second deposit is due another month after that.

I ended up writing a completely different essay for the AADSAS essay and the portal. To answer "Why NYU is a good fit" I wrote more about how NYU's diversity, location, and outreach is where I would feel comfortable and be able to fit in.
 
If we ask them to waive the deposit or have it extended until April will they do that if we promise to attend? Idk how people are paying for this / getting the money for this in a pandemic...........

That sounds like something to call them (and/or email them, but call first) about.
If you explain your circumstances, they may be able to grant you some leniency.

I’m assuming it was first come first serve so you might’ve just selected late. I believe there were a few options. I wanted to get mine done ASAP

Hey guys! I have my interview on Jan 29. I know.. that's the closest date before the end of the application cycle, so it will be very competitive for me to get my spot. Right now, I have no doubt that I'll be also performing well and enjoying the interview just like most of you guys said. But I just want to know how my stats will guarantee my admission. So far, NYU is the only hope I have. And did you guys hear back about the admission decision right after you finished the interview?

GPA: 3.94/4.00
DAT: AA25/TS25/PA24/RC22

Stats don’t guarantee an admission. You can have 28AA with 4.0 GPA undergrad/grad, but if you’re bomb your interview, are super weird and/or give off bad vibes you’re not getting in. Stats get you an interview, but once you’re at that step, it’s an even playing ground for everyone.
I interviewed Jan 14 and still haven’t heard anything.

No I’m not international, but I’d say 4 out of 12 in my group were international.

interview was very nice, me and the interviewer actually had similar hobbies so the interview was very casual.
