Finally!!! After two and a half long years finishing my pre-reqs and spending every spare minute on SDN, I got into NYU College of Dentistry! I interviewed on March 24th and I got an email today from the admissions office.
Thank you SDN and the people who post meaningful threads. Also to those who make the time to answer questions! Knowing that SDN existed definitely helped to prepare me during the application cycle.
I know people are going to want to know what my "stats" were and etc. So here it is:
Overall GPA: 3.25
Science GPA: 3.17
BCP GPA: 3.35
Post Bac GPA: 3.72
DAT Scores: 18AA, 19TS, 18PAT, 19RC, 18 Bio, 21 GChem, 19 OChem, 15QR
*Over 300 hours of dental assisting
*2 research projects (One to be published in summer)
*Co-founder of pre-dental society at undergrad
For those who are still waiting to hear, keep your head up! Make sure you stay active in your quest. Send in updates, be proactive, get to know professors who can write you an awesome LOR, do whatever it takes! This was not an easy road, but well worth the effort! I'm just excited to get started. I look at it as a fresh new start and I will not make the same academic mistakes again! (The first two years of undergrad were horrible...)
The last two years I felt like all of these faces:
