I am aware of the time and effort that most SDNers put into the application process. NYU has always been my first choice, so I would be hardpressed to give it up. However, if presented with a substantial scholarship from Harvard and Yale, I dunno. NYU has the reputation of not providing loads of free money. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. If I have no intention on going to a school, I am not going to hold multiple acceptances. That's just not how I operate.

So, yeah, seriously.

I think the comment was based on your statement about giving up your NYU acceptance if you got scholorships to Harvard or Yale. I'm not sure if it was a joke or not, but 32R on your second attempt (don't get me wrong, that's a great score) generally doesn't even get you into those schools, let alone get scholorships to them.
 
Here's to another day of obsessive e-mail checking, which I've been pathetically doing since the first batch of acceptances went out well over a month ago. I'm starting to despise NYU.
 
i feel that i've been pretty positive during this whole thread. but now i seriously don't care. whatever, NYU. you're very expensive anyway.

Before 12:30pm. SDN is only a subset of the entire accepted population. Don't think we should be following such a trend. 😛 Good luck guys and girls!

Yeah, I agree. What a name. And what an attitude. Now that you've been accepted you should either truly help the rest of us out (provide helpful information) or scram.

I never said I expected to get into Harvard or Yale, less a scholarship. However, since I got an interview at both places, there's always hope. IN the same manner, I hope tha many of you get into NYU or the school that you're pining for.

Since it has been brought up, FutureLegend was in reference to my surfing career not medicine. Of course, that'll be put on hold...

thanks runner, I interviewed Nov 20, so that throws out the theory of chronological acceptances to this point

that might have been the case for the first batch, but it seems like they are going to continue to trickle in until mid feb

as someone said they already had their last adcom meeting, so it very well could be that they are filling up the rest of their spots from a ranked list

Don't lose hope 👍

I heard they don't like accepting CA applicants right off the bat because they think they won't come, so they waitlist and wait for an LOI.
