Just confirmed over the phone and sharing. 🙂

According to Dr. Elise Eisenberg our class MUST purchase the PDA's on our own.

Due to change in school policy this year, unlike the current students, NYUCD is not providing us PDA's.

We will NOT be getting PDA's during orientation.

Time to go PDA shopping!
I personally really like the TX 😀

You mean we have to spent more money?

Can anybody tell me what the F are we going to use this PDA for? Afterall we going to dental school not an engineering school.

tetris during boring lectures... oh wait i haven't stepped foot in the school for over a week now.... so pretty much nothing

Thanks for sharing. Is NYU planning to let all of us know by sending an email or snail mail out? What good PDA's are you guys all getting that are not that expensive? Specifically which brands are good?

All the suggested PDA's on the requirement sheet are from Palm.

Like I said before... I personally like the Palm Tungsten X aka TX...

The Palm Tungsten E2 is currently a best seller.

I prefer the TX over the E2 b/c it comes with a WiFi.

Palm Treos are a great option too... if you don't want to carry around your cell phone AND PDA... but I heard the phone/PDA's have alot of problems... they run slower...

hope this helped... 🙂

see you guys all at orientation 😀

is it better to buy a pda/phone or a traditional pda?

the new motorolla Q phone is really nice, this is what I am getting If we can pick out our own 🙂

how about blackberries? anybody know if they'd be compatible. the question is, do we need these pda's for our own use, or are we required to use them by school and must they be compatible with nyu software or anything like that. i was thinking of getting the tmobile mda. i can get med dictionary on there and it has a stylus pen. frankly i dont care for a pda. pencil and paper is better.

I wouldn't buy one until you get here.

Unless they changed the classes, you will have no use for it the first 2 years.

do we HAVE to buy a palm brand device? is the operating system that important? will we be running software on our PDAs that require a Palm 5.4 operating system?

well... when i talked Dr. Elise Eisenberg... she said that there is a reason nyucd had listed those pda's and corresponding specs... =T

Yeah i think i'm going to wait. If we (really really) need it, i'll get an over night delivery or something.

200-300 bucks more isnt a hassle. Just think of all the loans d-schools costs anyways. If they require it then you have no choice right?. You can always find pda's for less on ebay as well. no big deal so go out and get one 😉

you don't need a PDA. I did not use mine at all except for maybe tetris during class. Oh there is one class that it was used in, for 2 measely questions!! 2!! And it was a class that EVERYONE passes.

The technology thing is a bit out of hand in my opinion around here.

I guess i will need a PDA (for tetris) if i want to stay awake during lectures. Otherwise there is no use going to classes.
Everybody, lets go get ourselves some PDA's. I hope we can find some online games that we all can play together on NYUs network. It'll be lotta fun!

For real? In that case, I will only purchase a PDA if they sit me down and order to me to purchase one. Thanks for the heads up bro. 👍 👍
