how much of a disadvantage would one be at if they took the pcat in oct as opposed to june? When do most people apply and when do schools start interviewing? How long does it take the scores to come out. thanks.

If you take the PCAT on October, your PCAT result will be received by PharmCAS around End of November to Early January. PharmCAS will then mail the test result on your designated schools 2 weeks after it receives the result. The disadvantage of taking the October PCAT is the delay on your application review by the AdCom. Although some schools may call you for interview first then review the PCAT score later, but not all pharmacy schools will do that.

I don't think the impact on your admission will be that bad, IMHO.

When do most schools start interviewing? Would an oct pcat rule out early application programs?

If you are prepared then it's best to take the PCAT in June so that you can complete your applications over the Summer and hopefully be called for interviews as early as possible in the Fall. If you aren't prepared for June then it is probably better to wait until Oct. if you think your score will be higher.

Good Luck! :luck:
