I don't want to get my hopes up as much as I did last cycle, but I can't resist the urge to ask if anybody has information regarding my odds of admissions, which correlate to my current situation. Last year was my first year applying to dental school and I received an interview from OSU even though I wasn't scheduled to receive a B.S. degree. I made it to #8 on their waiting list last cycle.

I believe I dramatically improved my application through work experiences (teaching DA, teaching CE credits to dentists, and working as a SurgiGuide product specialist as a Materialise rep); however my DAT scores remain the same (above average; not over 19's). OSU is giving me another interview in Jan 2006 for this cycle. Does anybody have any info to share regarding my odds of being admitted since this will be my second consecutive interview (assuming I ace the interview)?

This year I have other schools interested, however I grew up in Ohio and becoming a buckeye would be a dream come true.

The truth is that the applicant pool has increased by 40% from last year and that means a much better selection. Basically, stats need to go up this year to get a shout. But hey, you've improved your app and you're instate so go for it. 8th on the waitlist is pretty damn close so hopefully they'll see your improvement and dedication and you'll get in!
