How long did it take for you guys to get the Brown sec? I added Brown and Dartmouth just for fun...

Does anyone know if there is a way to reprint the signature page for Upstate and if we can view our supplementary app even after we have submitted it?

there was a thread on this topic last week. you can search for it, I remember someone linked the signature page. Or you can email the adcom explaining the situation and they'll give you the link.

thanks tredici! i found the link =)

Does anyone know if UVA screens OOSers?
And Maryland and EVMS? Just wondering because I received these secondaries, and I wanna know how excited I should be. Gotta hear back from 3 more schools and thats it!:meanie: 👍

so...I have heard nothing from wake forest about their secondary (not even an email acknowledging that they received my AMCAS), so should I assume I have been screened out pre-secondary(verified 8/10)?

you might want to contact them or check your junk mail, because when i got rejected presecondary i actually got an email saying so. this was last year though.

I was verified 8/13 and haven't heard anything, either. Let me know what they say.

I was verified on 8/8, received notification from Wake that they had received my primary on the 13th, and received the invitation to complete the secondary on the 15th. I would expect you'd hear something soon.

Crap, all those secondaries that require a personal check/money order payment are driving me up the wall...my bank charges $5 for each USD money order. What a waste of $! I decided to just print those puppies out when I go to Minnesota in the next couple of days and send the applications from there - I think SuperAmerica only charges like 1% of the money order amount. I hate to spend my $ on boosting my bank's bottom line!🙄

The USPS also only charges $1/postal money order.

You know what I hate? Those secondaries that have essays AND those nasty little "yes/no" questions where if you say "yes" (or "no") a nasty little essay pops up...*cough* Maryland *cough* I've already written three of those little devils in addition to the regular essays!

it says to write a brief narrative including year and length of involvement in all activities in leadership.

Should this be written as one paragraph, or more like a resume?

Hi, I am working on the Wayne State Secondary. I am sort of trying to find out a way to answer the question in Group III (for reapplicants):

What is your understanding of why you have not been accepted to medical thus far? What have you done to increase the likelihood that you will be accepted this year?

A combinations of factors I think contributed to my failed application last year. Primarily, I applied late (wasn't verified until mid-October), I probably didn't have enough clinical, community, and leadership experiences. Moreover, I hadn't completed my organic chemistry credits yet.

I have done a lot to address these aspects of my application. And I am going to mention all that. But should I mention the "applying late part"? Or should I just focus on what I lacked last year and what I have done to improve my application since then (i.e. better extracurriculars, volunteering experiences, and LOR's)?

BTW, my GPA is 3.70 (Electrical Engineering graduate), and my MCAT is 30 O (10, 10, 10). My GPA's just gone up 0.01 since last year from 3.69 to 3.70 from post bacc courses.

I wouldn't mention applying late - makes it sound gimmicky (although we all know it is).

So I went to check my status at Case Western, and it says my app is not complete because I'm missing LORs....so I clicked to see which ones I'm missing and it says they have all been received, last one coming in on Thursday.😕 WTH?

I just received an email from their admissions office...

"Christopher, we haven't downloaded your primary application from AMCAS
as of yet. When we do, it will be evaluated and an e-mail sent as to the
status of your application. We do send our secondary applications
selectively. Thanks for checking. You should be hearing something soon.

Best,
Irene Tise"

Anyone else hear from the UC schools lately? I haven't gotten a single secondary from any of them yet. =(

Wow, they haven't even got it yet? I wonder if they evaluate them as soon as they download them, or if they are gonna be lying around for another couple of weeks...

Just shot an e-mail to Jefferson about LORs - I'm having an issue with finding a physics LOR. I don't feel comfortable asking my current prof until the class is complete (which probably won't be until 2-3 weeks from now) and my old prof from 2004 didn't respond to multiple e-mail and one voicemail message. Hopefully they will budge! I wasn't a science major and haven't even completed all of my pre-reqs yet, so hopefully they'll take a letter in my major in lieu of the physics one.

Yes sir, Jochi1543 slipped through the screener cracks yet again! VCU this time.👍

I think they've been silent since it's first day of school week coming up. Be prepared for the september wave of secondaries and interview invites.

Please select two of the following questions:
1) Describe one sustained service activity that you have engaged in. What needs were identified and how were these needs addressed in this service activity?

2) Describe a person who you have worked with in a service activity. What did you learn from that person?

3) Describe a situation when you had to engage and motivate others to achieve a goal. How did you do it?

4) What innovative solution have you contributed to a problem or research question?

5) What do you do to maintain health and balance in your life?

Finally got a notice from Wake Forest saying they downloaded my AMCAS. First, I couldn't even get the site to load, and then I couldn't log in. Let's hope future status updates will be somewhat reflected in the body of the e-mails used to send them or else I might never find out what happened to me and Wake.🙄 I love how they say to "check in a week if the site doesn't work..." C'mon, a week makes a difference when it comes to receiving/submitting a secondary!

pluripotent, just wondering where the first letter of your last name falls in the alphabet? Trying to figure out how mayo is sending out secondaries cuz I have a friend near the beginning of the alphabet that got it last week. Thanks

Wake sent me an email on the 28th saying they downloaded my AMCAS and were reviewing it. Today I checked my status and it said they will be sending me their secondary withing two weeks. Looks like I passed their initial screening.

Hey... has anyone heard from Drexel recently? I was verified 8/20 or so... but haven't gotten their secondary. Anyone know if they screen?

Those of you that used virtualevals, do they send you a confirmation e-mail that the letters have been uploaded to designated schools everytime if you did it in separate batches, or do they only send you one for the first one?

I only received an e-mail notification after my first batch of LOR's went out

Mine says "You will be receiving notification of your application status by e-mail." That's their euphemism for rejection, isn't it?

Anyone know if Ohio State's status page ever says "complete"? I have all of the elements submitted but it doesn't say anything about being complete, just about the stuff being recieved.

I have a question about FSU's secondary

For all of the essay questions(besides the self-critical essay), I have answered all of them withing 200-300 words(the max amount is 500). Is this length all right, so should I expand more on my responses. Thank you.

If the status page reflects that all of the application materials have been received then you're complete. It doesn't say that under application status though. It only says "AMCAS application received." I called and asked about this too, and this is what the lady said.
