Yessir. I sent my transcript in May 17th or so, they received it the 21st, and I submitted today.

Yes, absolutely. This is how some people are already verified.

wow, i was never on top of the game this much. kudos to you ALL!

for anyone reading this thread thinking you're not going to submit for a couple months, it's okay. Don't submit too quickly just because you see about 100 SDNers submitting the first possible day. But don't wait too long either :)

30+ SDN-ers have already submitted by noon (PST) on AMCAS Opening Day. Last year at this time there were 11 submissions.

You guys are craaaaazy. Either that or SDN has grown a lot this year.

It's turned us all into neurotic pre-meds. I had a small panic attack when I hit submit and it sunk in that I would no longer be able to edit my application....even though I looked over it 1876234 times, and had numerous other people go through it prior to submission.

I've noticed some people have already gotten their apps verified, i was under the impression it takes a while. Can someone tell me what the status message will show when you have been verified? mine currently says "Submitted to AMCAS - Ready for Review"

It changes to "AMCAS Processing is Complete" and they'll email you. :)

Once your app is processed it will say "AMCAS Processing is Complete" as your status. You'll also get an email letting you know it's been processed.

Man, I don't know how I managed to miss the cue on what I feel should've been a key rule of applying early:

Submit your transcript *before* June.

Here I was, thinking that I was going to have it all together and be early, and it turns out that I could have submitted my transcript weeks ago.. :rolleyes: Oh well, my school will send it out today or tomorrow, so we'll see how long it takes to get validated.
 
to my friends who are verified already:

did the AMCAS verifiers mess up anyones course classifications? ive taken a philosophy of science class that was mainly about the theory of relativity so i marked it as a PHYS class, so it could count in my BCPM.

anyone see that the verifiers changed around course classifications?

That's their job. That's what verification is, checking the transcripts. You can submit an Academic Change Request (found on the home page) if you want.

so ive heard. thx for the response, but i was wondering if anyone had problems with a verifier actually changing the classification and then the applicant subsequently having to submit a change request..

Say it takes an hour to go through the typical application to verify it. Say there are 100 or so people working on verifying at any given time. This would mean that on the first day, assuming submission begins at 8 and verifying for the day ends at 5, 900 people will be verified. So, the first 900 people in line will be verified the same day they submit.

I think a better way of understanding how AMCAS verification works would be to analyze verfication/submission in light of transcript recepit. In most cases, transcript is the limiting step. In case of 05/18 vs 05/22 (transcripts recepit dates), 05/18s will be verified first (granted they submit w/in the first day or two)
If we can add the date when all transcripts were received, it will give a better pic. of the process.

where in our amcas does it show when transcripts were received? or is it only through the notification emails?
