Hello guys! I am applying to Counseling Psychology programs, so please excuse me for being in Clinical Psyc thread.
I have received an invite with an option of 4 days to have my interview. They are all Thursdays and Fridays: February 12, 13 (Th, Fr), 19, and 20 (Th, Fr).

Do you know which day would be the most beneficial for an applicant? Would the day of my interview influence my chances to be admitted?

I would really appreciate if you can answer my questions!

Just pick whichever date is most convenient for you. Apart from that I might go with the first or last day for memory effects.

Anybody know anything about the following schools?!

CU Boulder
Fernberg
Univ of Houston
Rochester

I just got an email from my POI CU Boulder this last Friday, and when I spoke with the person in grad admissions last week, she said that most of the invites have gone out already but the remainder of the invites (from 2 faculty members) should go out by the end of last week or sometime this week at the latest. Their interview weekend is 2/28.

I don't know if all of Rochester's invites have been sent out, but I got a call 2 weeks ago from my POI inviting me to come out. Their interview weekend is on 2/20 & 2/21.

Anyone know if Temple and Georgia State are done extending interview invites????

Anyone heard from Fordham Counseling (Not Clinical)? They were supposed to send out their invites by Feb. 2nd...

I just spoke to the person in charge of graduate admissions at UNC Greensboro. She said that the department is still reviewing applications throughout the remainder of this week and that it is up to the individual POI to contact applicants. She did say that interview invites will most likely begin towards the end of this week and continue through next week (the department had requested that all first round invites TRY to be completed before COB on the 13th). Also, the interview dates will be Feb. 27th and March 2nd.

There is still hope! haha.

Just got an email from San Diego JDP for an interview on 2/23 and 2/24. It was addressed to "everyone" so I'm pretty sure it's a mass email (for the experimental track).

I just called back one of my POI's who left a voicemail on Friday. She invited me to an interview on behalf of the department. The two dates are February 27th and March 2nd. Good luck to everyone who's hoping to hear from them!🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Does anyone have any recent info or updates from Stony Brook? From what I've gathered, it seems like the profs arrange their own interviews and there's no single interview day...is that correct? Does anyone know if there's a general time frame or if all invites have already gone out? Any info would be appreciated...thanks!

Hey. I was just exploring the other threads on this forum and noticed that there is another "official invitation thread". What is up with that? What is the diff. between the two?

the other one is from YEARS AGO... dug up from the grave. reply to this one 🙂

Has anyone heard from pgsp-stanford psyd since the person who heard on jan 15? I am anxiously awaiting to hear if I got an interview! It can't be a good sign that I haven't heard yet....

Did you hear that today was the last day? Where did you hear that? Has anyone gotten an invite from them yet?

did the email happen to mention the experimental track? or was it just one big general one?

From their email last week:
"Because of the large number of applications we receive every year, regrettably we can only invite a small group of applicants for an on-campus interview. All applicants invited for the interview will be notified via email by February 2, 2009, by the program faculty representative not the Admissions Office, and more detailed information about the interviews will be provided in the invitation email message as well."

I did call them shortly after I posted and they said they were a bit behind schedule, so invites may be going out over the next few days.

Has anyone heard anything from

Adelphi
LIU (Brooklyn)
Columbia- TC (Clinical)
St. John's (pretty sure they are still reviewing apps)

Thanks!

I just got off the phone with University of New Mexico. They are still reviewing applications and will be extending invites in about two weeks. It sounded like the interview date was still being worked out. The staff assisstant said that it was in mid March.

last week my POI at Columbia TC (clinical) said that they had yet to begin reviewing apps (!) and were likely to do so w/in the next 2 weeks and start sending invites around that time. So think.. 2/13? Way to get a late start!

Well, the emails said we'd hear by today. I called and was told that they just finished reviewing and will notify invitees by the end of the week. ugh!!!:meanie:

Yes, just posted it in the rejection thread. I do appreciate hearing early rather than later.
/looking on the bright side

Two invites today via email 2/2:
1. Long Island University-CW Post campus PsyD Clinical Program
"We would like to schedule you for our second session on Friday, February 13th from 1:00 to 3:30. "

2. Auburn University-PhD Clinical Program-
"We are excited to inform you
that you have been selected as one of 30 applicants we would like to
invite to our Interview Weekend, which has been scheduled for the
weekend of February 28th"

Hey everyone. For those of you going to the Loyola interview, if you have gotten your interview schedule, could you let me know if your POI is one of the faculty members interviewing you? Mine is not, so I'm a little confused.

Anyway, maybe I'll see some of you this weekend!

I was accepted for this program today via phone on 2/2. I received a voicemail from them on 1/30 with a generic "call me back" kinda voicemail. I returned it today and they said I was accepted.

They don't do interviews, but there is an open house on 3/6.

Yeah!!! At least I know I'll be going somewhere!!

Is this Loyola Maryland or Chicago?

I know that someone posted an interview invitation from the U. Delaware.
But has anybody else received an invitation for interview?

Is there a 2009 acceptance thread to say where we got accepted? I tried searching but didn't see one.

I was thinking the other day that there should an acceptance thread.

Yale has posted decisions on your online application website..fyi...Glad I found this site to answer several questions I've had. Thanks🙂

Received an invitation via snail mail for an interview on February 27th, 2009.

Peace.😎

Does anyone know who I have to kill to get University of Delaware's graduate admissions to return calls? It maybe too late anyway, since people have gotten invites, but I'd like them to acknowledge that they have my GRE scores, and I know they do, and pass my app on to the department. I am so bloody frustrated.

You might want to call them super early (e.g. as soon as they open.. ).
When I called them before or shortly after 9:00, somebody always answered.

Good luck!

Got an invite a couple hours ago from Yeshiva PsyD program. They only gave me one option - February 5, THREE days from now!!!!! I am so annoyed that they only gave me a few days notice. They didn't give me any other choices, but can I say I need to reschedule anyway?

Can anyone confirm whether or not USC and/or UF are done sending out invites?

Interesting that they told you how many interviews they've granted...is that pretty unusual? Does anyone know typically what percentage of applicants are granted interviews from school to school, either depending on the number of applications received or the number of expected offers of admission? Or would it vary enough from school to school that it would be impossible to infer?

Sorry if this is late news, but I figured I'd share in case anyone was waiting like me.

Baylor PsyD said we should know something by Next Monday.

Any one know when we will find out about Louisville, post interview?

Has anyone heard from/about Case Western, UVictoria, or UCincinnati by any chance?

Case Western Reserve is still reviewing applications. I was told that interview invites should be sent by the third week of February, but it could be sooner.

To those who got rejected from Loyola, did they include a form you can send in to have your application be considered for one of their master's programs? What are your thoughts on that as an option if you don't get into any of the programs you wanted to?

Anyone know if Temple and Georgia State are done extending interview invites????

I am almost certain Temple is done extending invites...I had my interview today and they'll be finishing interviews on Friday. Then they plan to make offers in the next few weeks.

best of luck.

I guess this is typical for Yeshiva. I received 5 days notice for Clinical Health PhD interview.....If you have the means to do so I would just try to make it.

I think it's unusual for them to include that in the email. I think it totally depends on the school but a lot of times that kinda info is on their individual site.
