I received the following response to an email I sent last week requesting info:

"They are offering invitations this month and will hold interview weekend Feb. 20 & 21."

very vague but sounds like there is still hope! (or at least that is what she wanted me to think)

looks like university of michigan's interviews weren't until March last year, so not surprised people haven't heard from them.

I emailed them too! They were really vague, but also said there might be a second round of interviews.

Do you guys think that BC invites are all out since interviews are in less than two weeks?

I agree - i called UMich yesterday and the graduate coordinator told me the only program not done extending invites was the clinical program. But since some SDNers got invites and wrote the interview dates are 2/12-15, i'm not sure what to think... since giving us two weeks to book flights doesn't seem right...

Hi....to anyone who's still wondering about U of Oregon, I emailed the psych department and this is the message they sent me back

.The initial invitations for interviews have gone out. I will know in mid-February of any additional interviews..

Has anyone heard from Columbia Teacher's College about the Clinical Program?

Or Fairleigh Dickinson University?

Fairleigh is just now in the process of getting all of the applications together to send out to current students/profs. They have a match system there where students and profs rank applicants. That should be happening next week. Interviews there are Feb. 13-14.

I'm waiting on Columbia TC as well. When I emailed the dept. asst. (about 2 weeks ago now), she said "In general, Clinical Psych starts to extend invitations for interviews in February, with interviews in either late Feb or early March."
I haven't heard of anyone hearing from them yet... but I'm thinking about emailing my POI if I don't hear anything by the end of this week.

One program gave me a week and a half's notice... So there's still hope!

General Question: How common is it for schools to invite a batch of applicants to interview, make offers, and then invite another batch? Aren't the schools usually inviting enough people to make a pretty safe alternate list that first time through?

Sorry but no, the dept asst confirmed that they are done sending out invites, so if you didn't get one by now, you aren't getting one. 🙁 '
:edit: for Loyola Chicago that is. Haven't heard anything from Depaul yet. supposedly tomorrow! :/

Ugh. I thought I'd be able to handle this process with a lot more grace, but I'm extremely disappointed, and now waiting anxiously to hear from DePaul. Not to be pessimistic (but I will) I have a feeling this is going to be a bad week...

Does anyone know any additional info on the admission process at Harvard (clinical program)? There is a posting of somebody receiving an invite for a phone interview a while ago but nothing more. I wonder if each POI is doing their own interview invites, whether they have on-site interviews or by phone only, etc. Please post or PM in case you know anything else and would like to share...Thanks a lot!!

i know. i can't help but agree more!!! i was really down last night, and not really looking forward to today either 🙁

Based strictly on the schools I applied to, it's relatively uncommon. However, Widener is a huge exception as they sent out invites in several waves months apart and some people in the first round are accepted before the last round is even invited for an interview.

Seriously though...how has nobody on here heard from DePaul yet? What are they DOING?

So here's some follow-up information for a couple schools:

Georgia State - Will be sending invites over next couple days - Hope to have all out for this round of interviews by tomorrow.

University of South Florida - Sending out invites this week and next week.

Good luck everyone on your interviews...:xf:

Of the 9 schools I applied to, only 3 have been mentioned on here as SOME contact for interviews being made (and only one or two posts max). My concern is that only one (UNCG) has a March interview date... everyone else (all 8 others) have early February - 13th or 20th - interview dates!

Is it more likely that the schools are not really mentioned on this forum because everyone else is waiting for a reply as well... or more likely that due to the early interview dates that hope is really gone for most of the schools?

hey this is an FYI for those wondering why they havent gotten an invite:

i got married last year so almost all of the schools i applied to have me in the incomplete folder because my undergrad transcripts are under my maiden name and my application is under my married name. they weren't even reviewed by the professors.

😡

Can the person who heard from Ohio University tell me who their POI is? Thank You!!!!

If it helps any of you, Loyola's known for being extremely difficult to get into. What I'm trying to say is that not getting in doesn't necessarily say anything about you as an applicant.

Thanks... I just feel like they were one of the few schools that looked at the entire application instead of just a cut off score.. Now im afraid Im not getting in anywhere..

Sorry about the bummer. This is way to stressfull!

I noticed that someone was wondering about University of Delaware and I just wanted to pass on some info...

It seems as if they are just starting to review applications. I recieved an email from one of my POIs on Friday telling me that one of my letters of recommendation had not been recieved. She asked me to let her know when she could expect to recieve it. Thankfully they let me talk to my professor and he was able to resubmit it.

I took this to mean that they haven't started extending interviews yet and are still reviewing. Hope this helps!

No problem. When I found out that I didn't get an interview at Kentucky, I ate four cupcakes. 😉

That sounds like a GREAT idea.. I applied to 12 schools so I may end up gaining 400 pounds!

I received an interview invite from the department today.

Email invite from graduate student coordinator at 12:30pm (ET)

Clinical-Community Track, PhD

Interview days: 2/13 or 2/16

I applied to the clinical-child track... i wonder if that means there is still hope. others - which concentration are you guys waiting on?? 😕

I just called the grad. student coordinator at DePaul (cause I can't control my anxiety) and she said she is still in the process of sending out emails. So there is still hope! I applied to the clinical track.

Are you sure that is the case? My GRE scores and my transcripts have a different name (first and middle names inverted), and I just made a note on my application that I have the 2nd name as an "alias". I called to check and they were all matched up.

If they didn't put them together in your case that really sucks though 🙁

Clinical-child track too!

And edpsych, thanks for calling. I wanted to but I'm too chicken. Did she say when she will be done-ish? God I hate this!

She said she was still waiting to get the final list from the admissions committee, but that she will have the emails sent by 5pm Chicago (central) time.

This happened to me last year. Nothing got matched up correctly and I had noted my maiden name on all my applications. This year I had all the schools send me the transcripts and I put them in a big envelope with a cover letter stating that two of my transcripts were under my maiden name. It seemed to work. I feel your frustration.

I'm way over-paranoid when it comes to name issues because I changed ONE LETTER in my middle name 7 or 8 years ago (my parents spelled it wrong when I was born), and I never know if they need that, but I changed it at the end of high school so it shouldn't matter since all my college stuff is right...still.

that was just for me. i hadnt called a checked before because they always leave a space for "former names" on the application. but thank god i called because i went from the incomplete file at northwestern to getting an interview a few hours later.

Nothing like compulsive forum & email checking to make the work-day go by slower and be less productive.

you have to spell it out i suppose since they get so many applications. this goes to show NEVER be afraid to call. you never know what may happen.

now i can stop punishing my husband

Wow- you are pretty amazing. Thanks for finding out. I applied to Clinical-Child, so maybe they just did Community this morning? (hopefully:xf:) I guess... 3.5 hours more of waiting....

I got an e-mail invite from Nova today, and a phone invite from GWU.

Anyone hear from Wayne State, Texas Tech, Virginia Consortium, Utah State, or Wichita State?

I heard from DePaul and Chapel Hill Yesterday.

Chapel Hill--email and phone call from POI (2/20)

DePaul--email from department (2/13-2/16, you are asked to indicate your preferred interview date

Just got an official rejection email from DePaul. It is nice to not have to worry about it now! 🙂
