😴 So wired to find out this morning, I stayed awake all night, and made it until 11:45 am. Yikes!!! Woke up an hour ago....and......

okay, I put in the "soexcited" smiley, but it's just obnoxious. So...

: )

Matched! Congrats to everyone, let's have some fun while waiting.............!

just thought I'd point out that in the very best match years, Match Day = St. Patrick's Day (ie. 2005, 2011).

Not that I won't celebrate both days this year, so I guess it's a wash. 🙂

Would someone actually reply to this thread saying "no match"?

Dude, that's like having your birthday be on Christmas. You get hosed.

A good year is a Match Week where you get 2/5 of it off, no questions asked. 😎

mmmmmmaatched!!! 😍

not like i had doubts from all the positive feedback, but i guess there's that one little voice in the back of your head saying...what if?

3.5/6 off for me

Attending told me to leave early Wed. Thurs is definitely off. Fri is off. And I'm supposed to be on black weekend too. CANCELED!

Of course, I'm on call as we speak though.....

:luck: schweet.

happy green day everyone.

Matched! Ohh and March 19 is my birthday. Hoping for a really nice present from the NRMP.

I matched! (of course I found that out in December because I'm military, but the excitement is so contagious.) Congratulations to everyone that matched. I hope you all get your preferred location.

Matched… Turning into an alcoholic trying to cope with the anxiety. 😕

I just helped some buddies of mine with the scramble. Oh man, not fun. Only 10 cat positions this year gone in under 10 mins. Rough. After only 30 minutes or so the panic starts to set in just for a prelim year.

For anyone in the scramble, I feel for ya.

What is the story with Yale? They have 2 un-matched positions.

Do you have the list of programs with open spots?

10 cats and 16 pgy-2 slots.

Yale's were advanced.

All cats were southern or central.

LSU-Shreveport was 0 for 4 this year and it doesn't look good for the survival of that program.

Texas Tech had one cat and Arkansas had 2 if I remember.

I forget the other cat programs.

West Virginia had atleast 1 spot unmatched as did Wisconsin

Do you mean Medical College of Wisconsin? Just curious.

MCW had 2 advanced positions available. My understanding is that U of Wisc had 1 cat spot, but I can't confirm that. Has been posted in other threads, and have heard 2nd hand.

A big CONGRATS to all those who matched! It's one of the best feelings in life. You guys are entering an AWESOME specialty! Now go get your drink on and enjoy the rest of 4th year- you've earned it. 👍

A big congratulations to all of you. I am excited to hear who is joining us at UW next year along with St. Francis.

Hard to believe that it was only 4 years ago that I was in your shoes. I had that envelope in my hand and my wife was standing there 6-months pregnant. I opened it and felt an incredible amount of conflict because I matched at the place I most wanted to match and the place my wife least wanted to.

I can remember what the agonizing days feel like between the finding out you matched and the opening of the envelope. The worst part for me was the 24 hours immediately preceding match day when I found out that the programs already knew which applicants had matched with them.

matched...booyah!

I think a quote from a tom petty song is appropriate here:

the waiting is the hardest part
every day you see one more card
you take it on faith, you take it to the heart
the waiting is the hardest part

Matched Advanced but not prelim (I was stupid and only applied to a handful of transitional programs and got a couple interviews). Had to scramble for a prelim and it was so much harder than I thought it would be. Got a pretty awesome prelim surgery though. It won't be cush but it ought to be a lot of fun. Then on to anesthesiology!
