Has anyone heard of anyone getting IV from University of Utah? Is it true that they don't offer IVs to J1 visa holders? Thanks

What is up with offering only 1 date? Are they really only interviewing on one day or are there other days they're not telling us about for some reason??
 
What are all your thoughts on being wait listed at a program? Does anyone have an idea about how often they end up inviting? Thanks
 
Obviously they have one spot because someone cancelled the interview....

They do have other dates. I have been offered only one date by a different program in the past. I requested for a change and they obliged and changed the date for me. However, if you are ok with the one date offered to you, no need to request for a different date (just to play safe).

You kidding me!! Do you have to respond by mail too?
 
How many interviews do I need to have a high probability (let's say ~ 90%) of matching in a Cards program? Has anyone seen this information in the NRMP reports? Any 'educated' guesses?
 
Based on a graph in the 2011 NRMP report, to have an 80% chance of matching:
AMG: 5 IVs
US IMG: 8 IVs
IMG: 10 IVs
... hmm, can I count this as research?? 😛

Now I can see why even 10 interviews may not sometimes be enough. Clearly, not everyone having an X number of interviews has equal chance of matching. I wonder if that has to do with luck and preparation or if this is largely predetermined by AMG / IMG status and the application itself.
