I am an IMG and I applied to 95 programs. 0 interviews yet! It seems like the competitiveness of GI has not diminished one bit inspite of the reimbursement cuts, based on looking at all the data over the years 🙁

Hi rajkotgi. Do not hit the panic button yet. We aren't even through round 1 of invites yet, let alone round 2.
I think that we will see invites coming in for another 2-2.5 wks, and then it'll be time for round 2 for another 3-4 weeks...by the end of September, the vasts majority of invites should be complete. This is, of course, IMO, based on other years and extrapolating on the way things are going with this years' timeline.

@rajkotgi Agree with nycscope, also put in mind that lots of cancellations will occur in the next period. 95 is lots of programs, just prepare yourself for sudden unexpected trips.

Based on my classmates experiences from previous years - the "top" candidates get all their invites now. The rest through end of sept. One friend (who matched at a top prog, btw) didn't get any of her interviews until sept. So there's still hope.

Also, UPMC, Brigham, BIDMC, UCSF, Indiana and many other solid programs did not send their IVs yet. At least if a good applicants sample is represented here, as I do not see any of these progs on the list.
