Thats what im very much tempted to do...i get it. Havent done it yet, though. But i do have a "next round" list if i do go ahead. Maybe DO, too.
I am really tempted to Go Do, but I am scared because I don't know what the process is like. A D.O. doctor saved my mom's life this summer though, so perhaps he could let me shadow him?

Having a hard time. Hearing nothing from everywhere is causing me to lose my mind, and it's not like schools aren't giving out interviews.
I feel you. Still crickets over here. I should probably spend less time on SDN for the sake of preserving my sanity!

I still need to complete 8 2ndaries, I got really jaded and needed to stop for a while, but this new II has given me inspiration to finish them quickly. I was complete by the end of July for my other 20ish.

Haha so true! Now I just want to focus on prepping for MMIs..... My interview is in November so if I don't freeze it'll be a miracle. And congrats on all your DOs! I bet that definitely soothes the nerves!

Congrats on your interview! Hopefully it gives you a little relief from some of the doubt that can plague us all and also gives you some confidence.

If I remember correctly, Cherubb is a RN nurse non-trad with a stand out story.

Just thought I'd stop by and say good luck to everyone, it can definitely be done. Even if you don't make it this cycle, don't give up. I had to apply multiple times, but it was all worth it. Good luck and make sure to keep working on your app/resume until you get that acceptance!
It's pretty much exactly the same as MD. There are a few slight differences and there are 1 or 2 fields that are much more difficult to get into, but in terms of the process and actual practice they're almost identical.

I consider this a good sign... I had a nightmare about rejections the night before I got my II. Its only fair that we make ourselves as miserable as possible. It'll make the success that much more delicious!
wow, is this thread good luck?? i posted in it for the first time on Wednesday, then got my first II of the cycle Thursday morning 🙂

Submitted most secondaries last week of Aug-1st week of Sept.

Good luck! It can be real hit or miss with LizzyM below 70. My first cycle I got zero acceptances out of 4 interviews. The next cycle I got 4 acceptances out of 5 interviews, and had another 7 interviews I cancelled after getting into my top choice (granted, 3 of those acceptances and all 7 cancelled interviews were DO schools though). So basically this all process can be a major crapshoot.

I was completed super early, and I'm not expecting much love from MD's either.
This silence thing seems to be the case with many medical schools right now. I myself am experiencing deafening silence.
I guess its just too early to give II's to the average applicant. They are only giving II's to the "cream of the crop" apparently.

Jumping on the good luck bandwagon. LizzyM 66-69, all the usual ECs. Complete early July at almost all of my schools, just waiting on one secondary now (looking at you, Vanderbilt).
4 MD II (one being a complete surprise, still in disbelief at the moment) no rejections, 2 holds.

This seems accurate. I haven't heard anything from MD schools since July.
At least you got a few II's tho!
I know it's n =1, but LizzyM 68-69 here, nothing really exceptional that'd make me a superstar and got 6 MD II...
I think it's more about applying to the right schools and having essays with no red flags (having others proof reading your essay is very important).
But it's still early, maybe we will all hear great news for you guys soon!
