Official 2015-2016: Oh no, I don't have a single Interview Invite thread!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Got the Albany axe today. Sigh. Just kind of ready for this to be over. Either way. I mean I hope it works out but I just want the bleeding to stop at this point. In June it will be a year already. Come on!

If I am ever involved with an admissions committee in any capacity, I will do everything in my power to ensure that people receive decisions in a reasonable and expected timeframe. There's simply no reason for people to hear back 10 months after submitting their applications or never hearing back at all.

Albany with the straight to the point subject line. Hold--> rejection. Good luck with everything tho

I want to get an email that says "Great News Inside" in the subject line from one of these schools!

Hey guys, just wanted to update everyone that submitted apps to DO's. I submitted my DO apps pretty late in the game, most being around November, one even in January, because I wasn't sure whether or not I would want to attend a DO school. After a lot of silence I figured these schools weren't interested in my application, or that I didn't fit the DO image, but I just got my second interview from a DO school today. Yes you read that correctly, on March 23rd, so I'm just reminding you all that the cycle is very much not over. I even heard that at this particular school the class is only about two thirds full, so there is still plenty of time, and no reason to lose all hope yet. Stay positive everyone!

Who puts an arrow in an email subject line?
Apparently Albany. I love the super passive way they rejected me: "Thus, I am writing to tell you that your status has been changed to "no interview.""
C'mon Albany, own some responsibility for it. Here are some suggestions:
We have decided not to offer you an interview.
We have changed your status to "no interview."
We are unable to offer you an interview.
When we received your application in July, we immediately used it to roll a cigar and laugh with each other. It just occurred to us that maybe we should let you know.

I don't know why this made me laugh, but it totally did. But, you're right.

^ As did Rosi Franklin, and I can't remember where else - but I got a bunch of "you should apply to our masters, biomedical, etc programs.

That and I am just getting inundated with Pediatric recruiting material 🤣. No. Thank you.

Going to pass on them, but those adverts did strike up enough of my attention to look them up. I honestly hadn't realized that pods were a separate thing.

*sigh* how many schools are you guys still waiting to hear from pre-interview? At this point, it's like why not just send the rejection email? Pure torture..

What about Michigan State, "Unsuccessful Application"? Rude!

Lol these schools have no tact when rejecting applicants, how annoying . I think it was SUNY Stony Brook and Creighton that had the nicest rejections for me.

Waiting on Jeff, NYMC (no hold), Rosy Frank (hold), and Drexel (hold).................

Also waiting on one post-interview decision, which is basically my only chance of getting into med school at this point.

Which school are you waiting on post-interview?

Also, you're on the interview waitlist at Rosy aren't you? That has potential!

Guys I thought my cycle was officially over the other day (other than 1 post-interview decision) but I realized I was still on hold at Drexel. Will be withdrawing from there however and then this crazy, expense, long, and very humbling experience will be at a close for me

Thanks for the always appreciated encouragement, bananafish! I'm waiting on Geisel. They weren't joking when they said they hold out until the end of the cycle to notify applicants. People on that thread are getting antsy, which makes me on edge as well:nailbiting:

Why are you withdrawing? Are you holding out for the other school's decision?

That's so exciting! I toured Dartmouth when I was deciding on my undergrad school and that entire area is absolutely beautiful. FWIW I got off the interview waitlist at Rosalind Franklin in a fairly timely fashion, as did many others. Now I just have to get off the real waitlist! And I'm very much on edge right now too.

The school and area are gorgeous, I loved loved loved it. The waiting is torturous! I'm so thankful to have this thread to comfort me and keep me sane. Wishing you and everyone else on this thread the best!!! I'm glad there's hope for the interview waitlist! Btw, did you ever get a confirmation from them after you emailed back saying you want to be on the interview waitlist?

Why are you withdrawing? Are you holding out for the other school's decision?

I had my acceptance at UConn and on Wednesday got accepted to my other number 1 school (well tied with UConn). So I figured I would withdraw all my other pre-interview and II from other schools so other applicants that would actually attend could get II/acceptances

Waliting on Downstate, Drexel, Jeff and Miami and waiting on one post interview decision and hanging on 2 waitlists.

Been on rosys interview waitlist since december...

Views from Downstate 2 days ago, so they're still going! I think I saw someone posting that Jeff's done giving out II's after calling... not sure.

I'm hoping for the same thing!
I called them but I can't get through. Left a message on their voicemail on Monday, but haven't heard anything. Each day that passes by is getting harder and harder 🙁

Side note: What is it with people making posts with these click bait titles recently? It seems like everything on the homepage is "What should I do..." or "Am I doomed?"

Sorry man, but Miami is done interviewing for this season 🙁 for anyone still waiting on them

You can't get through for them for anything. I've been trying to for months to find out why they rejected me after my interview
