Mississippi and Louisiana has a program like this for preMed/Dent students. I don't know much about the one in Mississippi, however I did the masters program at LSU Shreveport. You can complete it in a year if you put your nose to the grind stone and take about 3 hours in the summer, and 14/13 hours per semester. There were a lot of students in the program from all over the country. They just recently started a Kaplan class at LSUS that allows the med students to take a mock USMLE Part I and the dental students to take a mock NBDE Part I. I was the first class to take the exam. A passing grade on the exam is about a 60% for the mock exam and I made a 50% without ever have taken a single dental school class. LSUHSC School of dentistry loves both of these programs and I'm pretty sure Midwestern, NOVA, Tennessee, VCU, and a few others love students that have gone the extra mile to complete this program. Most of the people I knew that completed LSUS master's program ended up getting in to med/dent school the following application cycle. One girl got accepted before she had even completed the program. Hopefully after December 1st I will fit in to the same category.

Sorry for spamming this thread. But hoping this news comforts people. I have never received any form of communication from Touro. Literally never ... just app received in June. No complete email... so if you think you've been skipped over, think again! Like I said no one knows how these schools work. So hey!! If you never heard anything from a school... they might just be coming your way once and for all with an interview! Haha

Have 5 pre-dec interviews right now and I'm not hearing back from schools anymore. It doesn't make sense to me!!!

How about you just be happy and live in the moment with your 5 pre-dec interviews? There are people out there with zero interviews or just one interview. You are going to dental school unless you really don't know how to interview.

For Tufts, it'll only be the second day of interviews tomorrow so plenty more invites will be sent out. This is the first year that they decided to start giving out interview invites a little earlier (start it in October). Interviews here are usually given very late and many post-December interviews

I'd consider my self prettyy late haha. My app was complete 9/21... pretty much days away from October. I have two interviews and pre December interview so far, so take SDN with a grain of salt. SDN is super helpful many times but, people here only represent a minimal % of applicants so don't let dates get to you. You def still have a chance if I got interviews!! I'm not even a top notch GPA/DAT applicant. Plus this cycle goes until feb-March so imagine how many interviews you can get if there's 4-5 months left In this long and lengthy process. Stay positive!

Thank you so much RS2224! My stats aren't bad but they aren't AMAZING also, and 20 on DAT. I just started a master's program to help boost my application, but I'm pretty sure that dental schools will want to see my first semester grades before they consider anything further. Where did you get interviews from? Congrats, and I hope they go well!!

No problem! I like to provide optimism for my late applicant family ahah. I actually got interviews at UDM and Touro! My stats aren't too amazing either .. 20 AA/21TS/24 RC 3.66 overall. But, I think if your EC's and personal statement are steller (which I wanna say mines are) and your LOR's are normal you will hear back for sure! I hope you get your first interview soon and I get some more as well!! We will be fine.
