Yea. You would be at or slightly above their averages in terms of DAT. Your GPA would be on the low end, but I would predict that you could still get an interview

Also, how do we see our final calculated GPA (such as science, overall)?

Mail out date is when you submit AADSAS.

I think some people define complete date as when letters supplementary etc are in, and others define it when they get an app complete email from a school.

Go to status and download a PDF of one of your school applications to check out your GPA.

If you have good letters of rec, volunteering, shadowing, reserach, etc you should be good

I know! I kind of thought I'd be lucky to get around 5 total, I was so surprised to get both those emails yesterday!
 
Got a hold for comparison from Kentucky. AA 22 TS 23 PAT 19 GPA 4.0
I'm OOS. Looked at past threads and couldn't find anything really about this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Was it an email from them? In that case I don't think it's your stats holding you back because you're well above their averages. It might be the rest of your application. You very well still may get an interview from them in the near future though.
 
I called them and they weren't very much help. Rest of my app is pretty good I think, about 700 volunteer hours, multiple jobs, 200 shadowing hours for a variety of specialties, personal statements been rigorously reviewed by pre health advisors, and I have the highest priority on my committee letter. Have also seen my general dentist letter of recommendation and I would say it's moderately strong, definitely not a negative for my application. I was kind of shocked, maybe it's just something they do for OOS people. The person I spoke to was actually kind of rude. I also applied 6/4 so who knows.

This sort of thing (being rejected/wait listed even though you're a strong applicant) happens all the time especially at schools like UCSF. It's anyones guess what exactly they're looking for. You sound like a really strong applicant though so I'm sure you'll receive many more interviews from other great schools.

Did you get an email from them saying this? Ha anyone else heard from Kentucky? It's one of my top so just curious!
 
It's mine too! From what I've seen and talking to friends most have not heard anything. From looking at past threads it seems to be a negative thing, however I never encountered a situation where they put someone on hold for comparison this early. It makes me think they haven't received that many OOS applications and they really are just waiting for more apps to come in. I asked my pre health advisor what it meant and she responded with the following,

"Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, it's one I can't answer accurately because there are several possibilities; the language is non-specific. It could be positive in that you've advanced in the review process to a point where they're deciding whether to interview you versus others, or it could be somewhat negative if you've failed to advance at this time and they are waiting to see if, based on "fit" of other applicants, there are others who they'd rather pursue. You could remain in this status for months.

Hang in there"

I'm also from NC and it seems that they usually take the majority of there OOS applicants from states such as Texas, Oklahoma, and more of the middle of the country, which is interesting. Just if anyone else gets that's status don't call and ask them. The lady I spoke to was very rude! She seemed not to understand how important this process is to most of us. Let me know if y'all receive anything!

My transcripts JUST got approved (unfortunately because one of my school's transcripts got lost in the mail and it took 5 weeks to arrive) so I'm still waiting to be verified and when I called AADSAS the lady I spoke too said it's taking about 2 weeks right now to get GPA's verified. I'm assuming I'll be verified within the first two weeks of August. Is this making it on the later side of applying or do you guys still think I'm okay?

It's just a little frustrating because I had everything ready and submitted by the middle of June 😡

As long as everything is completed by middle of August (primary, secondaries, LOR) you're at no competitive disadvantage. You'll have to wait a bit as people on SDN collect interviews, so sit tight, but if your application is good, the interviews will come eventually.
