If we've already accepted our dental school, should we still do the academic update?

My interview was super chill. It's very conversational. Definitely, eat the breakfast or eat before you go because the interview happens pretty much as soon as you get there and then you have presentations.
 
Is it recommended to send my updated transcript with the fall semester grades or is there no need? Should I send it directly to the schools or through my AADSAS?

For a school you were accepted to, send it to the school. Otherwise, I'd send it to AADSAS and maybe send an email or call schools you're really interested in or waitlist at to let them know your grades.

So for those that I am waitlisted at, it's okay if I E-mail them with an attached un-official transcript?
 
Quick question - can schools see your academic update when you enter it, or not until aadsas verifies it? Thanks!
 
So do schools send a second round of acceptances on Jan 2?
 
So I have a question... On Dec 1st I have not gotten any acceptance so I'm still waiting.
Let's say that I get accepted to a school in January and I make a deposit.
Then would other schools (the schools I interviewed with) send me acceptance afterwords? Like if I make a deposit to a school that I got accepted in January, AADSAS portal status shows that the offer is made right? So that means other schools will be able to see that too and assume that I'm not interested in their school?
I'm worried because I don't want to miss acceptance from my dream school for that reason...
and of course I'm not 100% confident that I would be getting into all schools that I've interviewed with. I just thought of this and couldn't really find an answer to it so if someone could answer my question I would appreciate!

I think only you can see "offer made" and schools can only see what other schools you applied to (not sure if they can even see this, because during interviews sometimes people have been asked "what other schools have you applied to? 😵" ), but I don't think they can see the status other schools have placed you as. I think only in April can other schools see what schools you've placed deposits at/what seats you're holding.

As far as I'm aware most schools domt pay attention to where else you've been accepted, and they fully expect people to accept elsewhere because they know you only have 30 days. It shouldn't hurt you at all aside from losing your deposit.

Has anyone gotten more interview invites this week or last? I'm assuming most will probably wait until after the new year to start sending out invites.

ALSO just wanted to say I got my first acceptance December 1st to Nova! My background is extremely nontraditional with a really low undergrad GPA, but really high graduate GPA. This was my second time applying and I was extremely nervous so I feel super humbled and excited to have gotten in!

If anyone has questions with low GPA/Masters/non-trad background please msg me 🙂

What did you end up doing your masters in? I may have to take this route as its my second time applying and haven't gotten any acceptances yet?

I got my Masters in Biomedical Sciences. I did the Dental Scholars program at Rutgers! I know there are a couple programs similar (Barry University, UNT in Forth Worth, etc) But yeah, what are your stats/DAT/extracurriculars?
 
Some New Year cheer for all of you still waiting to get an acceptance -- I was accepted to my instate dental school so I will be declining my offers of admission to AT Still Missouri and Western U in California. I hope two of you on here get accepted to each!!

Overall GPA 3.52 / Science GPA 3.58; DAT AA 21 / TS 22 / PA 21 / QR 20 / RC 21 / None under 17; I was also a division 1 student-athlete with 100+ hours of shadowing experience.

I received interview invites from 6 of the 7 schools that I applied to (Buffalo, NYU, BU, MUSC, Touro, and UNE), 4 acceptances on December 1st (Buffalo, BU, Touro, and UNE), and 1 waitlist (NYU). I have a ton of ECs, research experience, and volunteer hours. I just want to give everyone that is reading this with lower stats like mine hope and I am proof that it is not all about the numbers!!!

I heard a few people get acceptances at LECOM in the past few days. Don't give up hope!

Had 3 interviews prior to December 1 and waitlisted at all 3 schools. I will hear back by the end of the month about UMKC, but no changes on the other 2. Still “under consideration” for the other 5 schools I applied to. I haven’t received an interview invite to those others or any other change in status. Are they still actually considering me or are they just strapped for time and want to send out all the rejections around the same time?

Just received an email at 12:19PM CST of acceptance from LECOM.

Words cannot describe the emotions flowing through my body right now. I feel like crying and throwing up at the same time. My parents are bawling.
